I hope Tyson does Tyson things.

Paul has to try and drag it out and get Tyson tired, get more aggressive as the rounds go.

It’ll be interesting…

Most of us are around the same age, where Tyson was the biggest name in boxing, video games, maybe in sports.

I would love to see him win.

Exactly. I was a senior in '86 ...getting together with my buds on Tyson fight nite was da bomb. I remember specific gatherings and rooms we were in, McNeely mouthing "cacoon" .... haha...I watched his loss against Buster at the Ranch Bowl...

...for a lot of guys like me, his fights were the biggest sporting event of the year (outside of Huskers of course) and the end of boxing as we knew it when he faded away.

Watching this fight tonite will be like going back in time

I don't follow boxing and I was very surprised when I learned the Tyson in this bout is The Mike Tyson. Not a son but THE Mike Tyson.

I hope Tyson wins by KO about 4 seconds into the match
I don’t want him to get out of it that quickly. I want Iron Mike to toy with him a while before knocking his block off.

Hoping for a Tyson knockout, but he had to stop training once due to his “health” or something if I’m correct? So might be a long shot.

The fact that this fight is getting the press it is tells you all there is to know about the state of boxing. The sport is so hard up for a marquis match up.

I know nothing about Jake Paul, but father time has been hard on boxers who continue to fight into their late 30s and 40s. Can't image what its going to look like for Tyson at nearly 60.

Yep!

I am not as old or as bad at love making as you are but when I was in college we would PPV (remember doing that) the fights and get a keg and invite friends over, most of those fights went so fast (like me in bed) but it was a blast.

It was an event. It was must see.

I know zilcho about boxing so who am I to say if Jake is a real boxer or not...but I feel like he isn't. Am I wrong?
Believe it or not, he’s a little underrated.

For a guy who is primarily a content creator, he has done an impressive job at taking boxing training seriously and making it his main focus.

Has beat the brakes off some fighters, but probably wouldn’t be much of a force outside of the celebrity thing.

Tyson's like 60. It's like having players from the 80's thinking they can still play, or having Jordan play 1v1 with any current player in the nba, or even a lesser league. Time always wins. Tyson has to get super lucky to have a chance. Paul likely carries him for a decision or ko's him, no chance of a tyson win.

Are they wearing headgear?

I can't imagine Paul has been hit by someone like Tyson. I know he is 58 now, I get that, but I would imagine his punches still hurt.

Is this going to be a real fight? I doubt it. I'm prepared to be really sad for Tyson. Father time is undefeated. If it's anything remotely real, Tyson better knock him out in the first two rounds or he'll be so gassed he won't be able to hold his gloves up.

He says he quit smoking pot and having aex to train for it..IF....that is true, its realz. Otherwise why bother doing those things?

58 is not old if you keep yourself in shape as it appears Tyson has

I haven’t heard anyone say honestly say that they think Paul wins this fight. I think thats mostly because we all saw Tyson fight at some point in our lives and think he’s one of the badest m’fers to roam the earth. Having said that, Vegas has Tyson as a fairly large underdog currently at +225 on Circa. I’m guess there is some sort of “script” or act here and Vegas knows damn well the outcome already. Give me Jake Paul in 5

Vegas offering odds on something that is "fake" would be a big issue.

Offshore, sure, they offer it on anything.

I'm afraid a lot of Tyson fans (myself included) and a lot of Jake Paul haters (also myself included) are going to be really disappointed tonight. All of those training videos that they have shown of Tyson are just to hype things up. When he actually steps in the ring, he isn't going to look anything like that and if Paul survives the first flurry then he's good to go and worse case he will dance and clinch his way to a draw.

I think this is pretty much going to be the case.

This will probably look a lot like a friendly sparing match after the first round.

If the fight is actual real…..and Tyson doesn’t knock him out in 30 seconds, he will get bludgeoned and embarrassed. 58 year olds do not fight for a reason. I would absolutely love to see Tyson knock that douche out, but I just don’t see it. Would be so fantastic.

I watched Tyson and Roy Jones fight in 2020 and Tyson actually looked real good, and of course, Jones is a real boxer with a lot of skill, despite having a glass chin. In that fight Tyson really never pressed him and tried to knock him out.

At the end of the day, they're strapping on 14 Ounce gloves, i.e. pillows. Money says Mikey needs a big payday.

Plus, they are 2 minute rounds.

Tyson doesn’t have to be as good as he once was. He just has to be as good once as he ever was. 😉
He needs a quick KO

Hahaha....I see what you did there. Very clever!!

...why do people act like late 50's means you have one foot in the grave? Good gawd, Tyson looks fit as a fiddle. He gonna whoop Paul like a rented mule.

He actually ain’t bad.

Tyson got destroyed by the terrible Kevin McBride in his last fight…20+ years ago.
Tyson's career ended the day he married Robin Givens.

When Kevin Rooney was training Tyson, he was very hard to hit, lot of head movement, great at cutting off the ring, and of course, that destroy 'em attitude. Once he left Rooney, his chin became much more available.

The guys that Paul has fought, Askew, Silva, Perry, etc all just walked in and had little head movement and of course not 1% of the skill Tyson had and still has for a couple rounds or so. Paul wants to just sit back and measure those guys and get a bead on their non-moving head and then nail them once or so.

If Tyson decides, and is able, to revert back to a lot of head movement, and throws those 4-5-6 punch combinations, Paul will have trouble. But, I'm sure the fix is in, so that is a great equalizer.
All those earlier guys fought Paul like they were on his payroll.

Really hope Tyson wins. Very curious how the heavier gloves and shorter rounds will play out. Personally I hope this goes a few rounds and then Tyson wins with a knockout. I just hope it doesn't end up being a young cocky dude beating up on an old legend.

That’s not entirely true because he won both the WBC and WBA titles after he got out of prison.
They were only married a year and for several years that Heavyweight Division was filled with nothing but tomato cans.

Once Douglas knocked him out in Japan and he started to fight guys like Holyfield and Lewis who weren't afraid of him, he was the one who was being intimidated. He lost his personna to Douglas.
