Am I seeing this schedule:
at Michigan Sunday
at Maryland Tuesday

That is not right!

Ohio State plays Sunday and Tuesday...both at Home.
Maryland plays Sunday and Tuesday...both at Home.
Michigan plays Sunday and Tuesday...first Home and then Away
Many teams have three games this week but no other team has two away in three days.

That's brutal. At least we've already played both of these teams this season, which simplifies the scouting somewhat.

Michigan is really the key game here. While a win at UMd would be great, beating Michigan is necessary to maintain our position in the B1G standings and separate ourselves from the pack right behind us at this point in time. Michigan seems to be on something of a roll right now, so this will not be an easy game.

Actually Nebraska had a similar schedule. Playing at Piscataway last night and at Maryland on Sunday. They are spending a day visiting DC according to newspaper reports from Nebraska.

I am worried about the Michigan game. Hope we don't get caught looking ahead to Maryland. BTW the team is going directly from Michigan to Maryland.

Michigan is the classic trap game. I am fearing a loss for this game with the way the offense is playing. Last time RU got a huge lead like by 16 or so and all of a sudden it was tied and we pulled away at the end. Against Nebby RU had two long draughts were only 4 points were scored for about 9 minutes...you cannot get away with that on the road or you will lose.

I don't have any expectation of beating Maryland so its important to get that Michigan win and then go into Maryland without any pressure

It would make sense if we were playing, say, Indiana and Purdue or Illinois and Northwestern in order to save on travel costs. Playing teams nowhere near each other so close doesn't make nearly as much sense.

As Phila phans says that is how it should be that is why Nebraska is playing us and Maryland. RU and MD are what they call travel partners for the Big 10 so they try to pair them together for the road teams playing them especially in the other sports but this is how they do it when Rutgers travels they usually play 2 road games against the two closest geographical partners.

That's what I was thinking. Logistically, that's very poor scheduling by the B1G.

We play Michigan and will arrive home Sunday night (early Monday morning) Monday day off after a game (NCAA rule) and then quick practice Tuesday morning, and leave for Maryland Tuesday.

Really really unfair scheduling. they wont have time to catch their breath.

Hopefully the bench can play more minutes at Michigan.

Either way, it's an exhausting trip...

Just beat Michigan, this a must. We can/will be excused for losing at MD on 2 days rest. Beat Mich, then even if we lose at MD, we can still finish at 14-4 in conference and get 3rd worst case. Plus we will be solidly up there in the rankings.

I was thinking more about time needed for game prep for Md. as Monday will still be a day off.

I knew about the Nebraska schedule.
But that is two games in four days and no plane flights in between.
So they have Friday and Saturday off with only a four hour bus ride to get there.
Really not comparable
Rutgers has to fly from Michigan after the Sunday game
then play in Maryland less than 48 hours after arriving back on the East coast

I prefer that we have more time to prepare for Michigan because a win is very mportant, while a win at Maryland would be a luxury.

In the B10 tourney the team will hopefully have to play multiple games back to back. In the NCAA tourney you get one day to prepare for your next opponent. Yes there's no traveling, but the team I'm sure can handle multiple games in a short time span.
