Good backfield, decent speed, especially for the location. Big o-line, 2 are 300# or so. Junior laden team.

Probably the 2nd or third best team in the state, but could/should win it all. All they were lacking from 2 years ago 8-4 team was good coaching. Last year they received excellent/superior coaching and went 5-7, which means this year they should break down all barriers and go undefeated, or at least win 13 games since their coaches are so much better than the previous staff. I might pick them for 4 state titles in a row, but I'll say they only win 3 in a row. By God, if I had replaced the poor coaching that won 8 games with the talent out of Waynesville, I might go as far as to say 4-5 state titles were easily in reach! Sky is the limit, as far as I can tell!!!!!

I have been working in Waynesville since January, and I'm surprised Tuscola can even field a team since everyone will move back to Florida by September.

Just kidding guys I like the people of Waynesville. Hope it's a good year for the Mounties.

Jumbo we will gladly give you that 8-4 coach back. He is our programs biggest
hindrance. By the way - how are you doing?

Good ole jumbo, still the consistent @$$#0/3.

Where's your boy Beaty? Oh yeah, he's gone too.
I think Beatty is coaching at Mars Hill College (not a 100% on that though).

Roberson looked much better without his coaching! 5-7 last year, very impressive!

Almost as good as that 5-7 team from Waynesville with superior coaching that was 8-4 the year before with an awful coach.

Actually, I guess Roberson WAS better since they beat you guys with and without Beatty over the last 2 years.

I'm actually surprised that my post offended you guys, not too long ago you were telling how the land of milk and honey was a year away with a REAL coach on the sideline. I figured you would appreciate a plug for year two of the Mountaineer Dynasty.

I guess the problem is that I'm not a Mountaineer fan, so I'm not sure how you're going to give him back. Anyway, if him as the OC only scoring 49 points and not being able to win, then he isn't your biggest hindrance. A defense might be useful.

Freedom appears to be like Roberson and Tuscola: places where everyone talks about history and tradition, yet none of them have ever won a state championship game.

Also, I am doing very well, thank you for asking. I hope you are doing well also, and that your coach learns how to overcome his lack.

Mulekicker... hmmm, I don't recognize you....

Anyway, not a Pisgah fan (I assume that was who you were guessing at). I'm a little surprised at all of the Tuscola fans who are suddenly insulted for me talking the way you guys did when you finally managed to get rid of one coach who sucked after an 8-4 season and were able to replace him with a far better coach (and go 5-7). My, those were glorious days when the talk was about an amazing future and a return to glory (I assume that to be the top 3 of the WNC conference).

Does this mean you guys aren't as confident? Or that you are just wanting to remain humble? Ahh, I appreciate the effort at humble, I'll not bring up your impending titles again. (shhhhhh!)

Loss to Shelby tonight at home with stud D1 RB. Lost last game prior by huge margin in the first round with same D1 RB. Currently 22-24-1.

8-4 starting to look a little distant in the rear view.

And before you begin the tired old excuse on us dwelling on him, you brought it up.

This guy seems bitter. Trust me real Tuscola fans who know the game will attest to the quality of their head coach. I would suggest just moving on and letting go man, holding on to bitterness will make you sick.

I gave the Mounties their props, where's the love? Also, that "lost last game prior by a huge margin" in the 1st round of the playoffs was by 1 point (50-49, don't they teach math in Waynesville?).

20-6 over the last 3 seasons, yeah he sucks. You guys pulling in that 6-7 record without him are WAY better!

OF COURSE, losing to 2x defending state champ Shelby signifies a horrible team with bad coaching, but beating the team that finished 0-7 from Freedoms conference last year = WINNING BIG!!!!! I mean, you guys destroyed a team that was 1-9 a year ago in a bad conference (they did manage to beat 2As 1-10 Draughn for a win last year), so I'm sure that means you guys are on par with Crest, Asheville, and AC Reynolds, easily!!!! I'll bet they are shaking in their boots knowing that you may be in the playoffs with them! I'm telling you, that trophy for 3A is as good as delivered to the hill in Waynesville!!!!!!!!!

You have a hodgepodge of average athletes and will be relevant every few years, but not consistantly good. If we look objectively at this years team, their schedule sucks and they play no one of importance until their 8th game of the year. 1A Swain? Pisgah, West Henderson, and Franklin? Given their schedule, 8 wins should be a minimum every year (good job on that 5 last year...). BlueVols thinks it amusing to tease Freedom for losing to Shelby, but Shelby would beat anybody on your schedule by 4 touchdowns (assuming they pulled their starters early and decided to be nice).

Half the MAC would run the table on your conference, so enjoy that rest period you call a regular season. Basketball/wrestling season starts 11/16/15, good luck at those sports!

I agree! Pisgah beat the 6th best team from the MAC by a point tonight, so that Haywood County clash should be EPIC!!!! Heck, it may decide who the 2nd or 3rd best team from your conference is! Possibly, but I don't want to get to far ahead of myself since North Henderson beat that talent laden Roberson team that is in the 2nd year of their new coach and showing how good they are without Jim Beatty at the helm (HE was why they lost, in case you have missed BlueVols informative pronouncements)! You know Roberson.... the team the Mountaineers can't seem to beat. Anyway.....

I kind of view you guys and Roberson through a similar lens, but I can't lump you together because their conference actually has some good teams in it. At least you SHOULD win 7-8 games with that schedule, enjoy that 1st round road trip!!!

if NB is the 6th best team in the MAC they are loaded im thinking more like 4th best team behind erwin, asheville and AC but i dont have a pissing match in me on a Tuscola thread, im not sure but i suppose your a Freedom supporter. Nothing but respect for that program, but looking at what you have to pull from it should be. Losing to Shelby is nothing to hang your head about, but ask Shelby supporters if they think 'Pisgah is afraid to come compete

What it means is we know we have to work with we have and that is white boys. I will take the beauty of where we live as opposed to a powerhouse HIGH SCHOOL football team. Your existence must be sad to feel the need to put down teenagers on a message board enjoy the hood if high school football is that important to you.

White boys winning state titles every year in the SMC.

As long as you blame it on that you guys will never win.

I'm not blaming anyone. I'm just saying that IN GENERAL a team full of 3A mountain white boys don't do as well against a team full of 3A black boys. There are exceptions especially in 1A but as a whole it is what it is. That said my point is I don't understand why chumbob is so bitter against a bunch of high school kids when he has no ties to Tuscola. It is 15 to 18 year old kids who are living their glory years because most of the heros of today won't make it in college athletics and our hope is that they will make it in life. Losers of the past like chumbob become losers of the future. My hope is that some of these kids are reading Chumbob's pathetic posts and strive to be productive members of society instead of a sad little man.

There is no reasonable explanation as to what Chumbob's problem other than he is a loser. That is what losers do. Read all of his posts. He puts kid's high school programs down yet claims to have no ties to any of them and mainly because he don't. That is what losers do. He probably played Mites and Midget football and might have been pretty good because he was a foot taller than the other guys and his mama told him he was good. He couldn't cut it in High School because my guess is too lazy to work hard and probably not enough athletic ability so he held grudges against the people who played then and holds grudges against those who play now. He is so jealous of something here in Waynesville he can't stand it. Probably another rejection in the long line of rejections he has received all his life.

Drop the bashing of coaches or you will be banned!!
DK, alright I won't tease these guys anymore. Tuscola fans have been bashing Brandon Allen for more than 3 years, so I've just been yanking their chain. Perhaps I went too far with my messing around, for which I apologize to everyone (yes, including the Mountaineer faithful).

While I digress and vow to just drop this and move on, I'd like to request that you respond with this kind of speed when they are bashing Brandon Allen this year because the Tuscola guys were all over the Freedom threads last year trashing him. Once "Josie Wales" and the rest of the gang get back on here, you'll see what I mean.

Peace! I'm out.

3 years of chain yanking !!!!! thats one serious man crush !!!!!;)
I have to admit, I figured once he left for another school the fun would end. Josie and his buddies gave me another year of giggles by taking over Freedom threads to trash him last year.

Funny thing is, I've never even met Brandon Allen or seen him coach. Was just having some fun and took it too far since most of the folks who are on here now weren't involved in the previous years shenanigans.

Again, sorry for any hurt feelings among the innocents.

A lot of the times, some show up, wreak havoc, and are never heard from again, it can be fun from time to time, some people just tend to take things way to seriously.

Well he's the one that bailed. Be that as it may, I think we are all aware our conference isn't world beaters. You play where you are put. You gave no props and you gave no love, just the same old tired smart aleck commentary. We don't really need to you to tell us what we have or don't have. We have Floridians to do that for us.

Seriously man, I've already admitted I was messing around, that I took it too far, I apologized, and am dropping it as per the mods instructions. Deanna was right, I was out of bounds. It was just me being a jerk online and I should use better judgement when I'm bored (and in possession of Crown Royal and a 2 liter of Coca Cola).

I hope the rest of your season is a success and that your team stays healthy. Again, sorry for the hassle.
