Tulsa Football held a large prospect camp on Friday, and by the end of the evening, the Golden Hurricane came away with a commitment from a Texas linebacker.

6-foot-3 and 195-pound Grant Sawyer of Argyle (TX) Liberty Christian has been on the TU campus several times. After a strong performance in front of Hurricane coaches, he picked up a scholarship offer and quickly committed.

Needs some weight and with a couple of LBs in place he probably can afford a RS. His height and speed would make him a nice cover guy against a back out of the backfield. Plus bring him off the edge at times. I see TU using him a lot like the way they use Suits or Linscott last season. Unless he puts in 40 lbs and keeps his speed, I don't really see him as a MLB

The kids is strong and a little lanky. Once he gets on campus and we feed and condition him, he will be a rock solid 225# in a year. A good RS year and this young man will be ready to put a hurt on the opposition.
