I’ve always wanted them to bring back the All College. One of my favorite sports memories is Shea beating OU’s butt in the Myriad and us never getting invited back. I was an absolute jerk at that one.
I was there as well, FANTASTIC! My wife said she was embarrassed to be there with me the way I was acting. Mission accomplished…

An attempt to draw a few hundred fans down the turnpike and up the interstate from Denton
USC is a nice brand but not a marquee opponent

True, but we don't have much of an idea of who we are yet....They may be all we need at that
juncture of the season!

I don’t like the format…It really undersells the program, and makes us seem like an opening act.

That’s not what the All College was.

Someone from the MWC or A-10 would have been better.

And here's the rest of our non-conference schedule. Pretty strong but also one we can do well in to give us a shot at an at-large with a good conference finish.

Not an easy schedule by any means. Most of the toughest games are on the road or Neutral Site.

Have I missed something? This is an excerpt from the schedule announcement on the official Tulsa site.

Tulsa's 2021-22 non-league schedule features seven homes games, three road contests and three neutral site games. The schedule reunites Tulsa against former conference members – Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State and a possible matchup against Utah from the Western Athletic Conference as well as Southern Illinois and North Texas as members of the Missouri Valley Conference.

Player need to gel very quickly. Nice schedule.
Wait a minute! We are talking Haith here.....Isn't quickly and Haith's history of getting a team
ready early (or the lack there of) an oxymoron???

I say don't worry....He will send out the "improved" Haywood and KES, and every thing will
be hunky dory,,,,,Except for the young guards that need the playing time.....

I do like the schedule....It's tough enough and still reasonable....I hope we have some success
early.....That has been hard to come by with Haith at the Helm!!!!!

When has Haith had his team ready to play the first 8-10 games? Not at Tulsa I don’t think. I used to enjoy seeing Nolan start off 7-0 and even Robinson and Self started off with 9-10 win starts if I remember correctly. He has had the Texas, Miami, Missouri plan where non conference is just to get you ready for the conference. Well, the selection committee will have deleted our name before conference time at Tulsa if you screw up non conference.

It is incredibly poorly worded, I had to go do some research. I believe they’re saying we were in a conference with Utah (1996-2000?), SIU, and North Texas (when they were North Texas St in the 60s and 70s).

My best guess is someone new to Tulsa sports saw we were conference mates, at any point in 100 years, and threw the fact in there without any clarification. It reminds me of a HS English paper I’d write and not understand why I didn’t get an A on it.

I like the potential of the new young point guards, but not KES there....I thought his late
season improvement was when he played away from the ball....

Our potential to look smooth and polished early on is (what would you call it?)suspect....

Yes KES is a 2G. Haith tried to jam Joiner in the PG spot- hope he doesn’t try the same with KES.

I don't want him to jam KES in the PG spot, but I don't know that we have another option to start at the PG position, unless Pritchard starts as a true freshman.

I recently listened to a podcast with Coach Haith. He talked about a lot of things not related to Tulsa basketball, plus the podcast kept stopping. So I thought I’d highlight a few things he said that might interest all of us as fans.
1) Sam Griffin and Anthony Pritchard would man the pg position

2) Embery-Simpson and Haywood are expected to be much better. He cited that both last season lost loved ones, both had covid and suffered thru those personal issues

3) in last year’s recruiting class they recruited shooters and length

4) coaches need to do a better job in the locker room. The transfer portal has changed the way coaches and players interact. Over 1,700 player entered the portal.

Players are in control now and coaches need to concentrate more on the personal relationships with players and between players.
Jeriah Horne returned to Tulsa because of the relationship between him and coaches. Haith expects NCAA changes in Jan to limit the portal to 1st time transfers.

So I am here working on my spreadsheet for the upcoming season and I am plugging in Alcorn State's games and these guys either believe they can compete or are looking for a huge payday. They have a murderers row of games.

@ Washington St.
@ Seattle
@ Portland
@ #1 Gonzaga
@ Southern Illinois
@ Milwaukee
@ Tulane
@ #15 Houston
@ Wichita St.
@ Tulsa
@ #8 Baylor
@ Oklahoma
@ Minnesota

All of this is November and December Games. Jan 3 is when they start their Conference Schedule. Their first official home game is January 15th, the fourth game into the conference schedule.

That’s how guys like this fund their program, body bag games. If they can win their conference and get a 16 seed (probably first four in Dayton) so much the better.

Looks like they're "vacationing" in the Pacific NW the first couple of weeks. I bet they don't even go back to Alabama/Mississippi (tells you all you need to know...not even sure what state they're from, just that Steve McNair went there).

Somebody is damn sure getting paid for that run of body bag games. What a crappy thing to do to your players. They'll be the Washington Generals of college hoops....
