Even if it is just a mild sprain, with s game on Saturday , he shouldnt play. A sprain can get worse if you dont give it some time. Not worth a regular season game. Rest him , even if we lose to Auburn , we get Arkansas at home then he can be good to go vs Tennessee on the road . We have some depth in the frontcourt. That is all.

If it’s a legitimate sprain at all and not just a scary moment that the staff took precautions w at the end of a game, then I don’t see any way he plays Saturday and nor should he.

I’m just getting over a similar injury (impact to outside of knee on a planted leg, shooting pain, swelling, knee giving out intermittently weeks following) and I hobbled around for 10 days before I could walk normally without pain or my knee giving out. It was a full 2 weeks before I could walk up stairs without feeling it. I’m at day 14 now and maybe I could play cautiously but I’m not sure. However, I don’t have access to top notch trainers and treatment 24/7.

My granddaughter suffered a knee sprain 3 weeks ago. It swelled a tad. She practiced 2 days later and played in 4 days. Of course all injuries are different

True. All injuries are unique. I had trauma to My MCL, ACL, and meniscus. They deemed it a grade 2. I honestly wouldn’t have been surprised if it was torn slightly but good ole socialized medicine in the military refuses to do imaging unless you can’t stand or it persist for months. And I could painfully hobble si crutches and a knee brace with some Physical therapy after resting for 2 weeks is where I currently stand. Count those pennies$$$.

I’ve had much less severe knee sprains that were more scary in the moment but turned out to be insignificant like hyper extensions that subsided in a matter of days though. So it’s all dependent on what the MRI says the severity is.

I hope it actually is just a sprain.

I’ve seen countless times where an injury was listed as a sprain originally, and then further testing finds extensive damage.

I’m really hoping like hell its just a sprain.

Reid is such a great guy and a positive influence.

It would be absolutely heartbreaking if he can’t experience and enjoy playing in the postseason. He deserves it.

If you don’t like Reid Travis, well, you’ve got some real issues.

You gotta play, soft world 2019
Ligaments have been the same softness/hardness since the beginning of time.

RT is a tough guy. I have no doubt he could go hobble around the court on Saturday but if he’s anything less than 80% than he’s damaging himself, delaying the healing, and hurting the team.

Hopefully it’s just 1-2 games and we get Nick and EJ a lot of reps that may pay off down the road.

EB, this is spot on.

I would think best case scenario is he’s back healthy for the Florida game.

You guys act as if you're doctors and have examined him. Of course you diagnosed him just short of being dead too.

There is no reason for him not to play, he got stepped on more or less, for all we know he's fine right now. He is not you, or I, or your 3rd cousin. He is in pretty good shape and can handle a little more than the average bear.

I'm going to wait for the team to announce his condition before saying don't play him, but UK does need him on the floor every game.

I'm not quite as optimistic as you but speculating on whether he should play on it or rest it when we don't have the slightest clue what it was is beyond premature.

My son is a 15 yo catcher and we’re 10 days into a sprain/strain of the medial knee. Ice, KT tape, hot baths with Epsom salts but the going is slow. Getting an MRI Saturday. Nervous.

John, you’re smart enough to know how fragile knees are.

I seen many players walk off the field on their own and the next day an MRI comes back as a ligament tear.

I hope to God this isn’t the case, but let’s not be naive. I don’t have to be a Doctor to know about athletes and knee injuries.

Again, let’s just hope the original diagnosis of a sprain is correct.

The fact is, no one knows right now what if anything is wrong with his knee yet here we are prescribing treatment. Let's see what's going on before planning his career for him.

Pearl will try to foul Nick out in five minutes. Hope Nick stays away from the careless cheap fouls he commits way to often.
BTW I am a huge Nick R fan. I think he will play in the NBA many years once he stops committing stupid fouls and perfects the post moves he is beginning to show around the basket.

I think EJ and Nick are more than capable for the task at hand. We stuttered because the injury was mid-game and it absolutely threw us off our game plan.

Now, Cal and those two can game plan.

Well, I don’t remember saying anything about prescribing treatment or planning his career for him.
Not sure where you came up with this.

The last I checked this was a message board. Just about everything posted here is speculation...uh, because it’s a message board.
