Apparently Iowa is in discussions with multiple QBs in the portal. Who do you, my fellow fans, think would be the best fit for Iowa and why?
Without an OL, no QB is going to be successful at Iowa. Our OL was manhandled by UCLA and Nebraska.Apparently Iowa is in discussions with multiple QBs in the portal. Who do you, my fellow fans, think would be the best fit for Iowa and why?
I have a work colleague that is a USC fan. He is not a fan of Miller Moss - he was benched for throwing pick 6s.Definitely need a dual-threat QB. Some of Iowa's best years have been when we have had a dual-threat QB. I don't think we need a QB that bull-rushes the defense or tries to do Kaleb Johnson type runs down the field, that's how a QB gets injured (See Brendan Sullivan) But we need a QB with good passing accuracy and the ability to use his feet to extend plays and occasionally can run for a first down. Drew Tate and CJ Beathard were magical in the ways they could spin out of tackles and run between defenders to allow the wide receivers time to get down the field and open
Yes, and our young recruits will hit the portal. This is why I was in favor of Chuck Long for OC. Long and Stoops created an XFL offense for players that needed to learn it quickly and wouldn't be around very long. Belichick is likely to do the same thing if he takes the UNC job. This environment is like having a team mostly full of JUCO transfers that will only be around for 1-2 years. All arrows point to a dual-threat QB being the best option for the 2025 season.
However, KF is in charge.
So, we'll be riding pro-style QBs til he spits out his last Bubble Yum.
Brown is on board. The question now is does Iowa take a second quarterback in the portal? All signs pointing to Hank Brown from Auburn. He's visiting Thursday.
