Lincoln High's Dajaz DeFrand's time of 11.67 in the 100 meters at the Grand Island Invite is the fastest recorded electronic time in girls state history, edging out the 11.68 recorded by Sarah Lyons of Omaha Brownell-Talbot in 2006.

She is now fourth on the Lincoln Journal Star's all-time charts behind three hand-held 11.6 times of Mikaela Perry (Omaha Northwest, 1993), Cairia Snoddy (Boys Town, 1998) and Katy Jay (Mitchell, 1999).

State record right? That's impressive!

Per the LJS, it's the fastest recorded electronic time. I don't know what the wind conditions were like in GI yesterday. A wind measurement would have to have been taken to certify this as a state record.
