Some nights the shots just don't fall. Of course when the opponent is allowed to hammer you on seemingly every drive, fewer layups will drop. When they are allowed to rake your arms more turnovers will happen. And when they are allowed to grab you on every screen it's much harder to get open!

That being said, you just can't shoot 28% from the floor 18% from 3 and 57% from the line and expect to win many games. So give props to UConn for a well played rugby match and start looking forward to next year!

GO HEELS!!

Good Question. We can also ask the same question by saying where would UNC be without IN yesterday. They would have beat us like that did Syracuse.

Geno was railing on the NCAA for 30 min shoot around and tight new rims. Leading to miserable 3 point shooting by all the teams
IMO, he’s correct. It makes little sense to bring out brand new overinflated balls and tight new rims during tourney time. As most everyone knows, the new balls are slicker and newly installed spring loaded rims are tighter until they’re broken in. That’s especially true for the women’s game since dunks and rim hanging doesn‘t occur frequently. The number of teams shooting below 30% during the tourney is eye catching when compared against the norm For those teams.
