It is a bit of a barbell year.

While there are a lot of #1 seeds in the finals, there are also a lot of wrestlers outside of the top 8 in the AA slots.

With only 50 wrestlers seeded 8th or higher in the 80 AA slots, 2026 will rank as the fourth fewest AA's from AA position.

Just shows how hard it is to seed when they avoid hard matchups all year, at finals there is no ducking, you eventually have to wrestle everyone.
