Too bad Creighton

Iād rather have any Nebraska school beat a university from any other state, but Iām not an UNL grad so I guess I donāt get the dynamic.
I fail to see how Tennessee is a team to root for over a Nebraska school?
Just some Nebraska fans jealous of Creightonās success really. They out there on X joining the Tennessee fans bashing Creighton. Canāt see where Husker menās basketball fans have any room to talk trash, go to NCAA tournament once a decade, never win a game.
I'm not jealous of Creighton at all. I knew of no Creighton fans when I was a kid in Omaha. We all rooted for NU. To me Creighton is like any other school I don't root for. I don't root for them because they are from Nebraska. I suppose I feel the same way towards Creighton as I do Iowa. Or how about that doofus from K-State board that comes on our board to tell us about his team.
Man if everybody was like that, you'd have the NBA. Imagine Duke fans rooting for North Carolina. Imagine FSU fans footing for Miami . Imagine Ohio State fans rooting for Xavier. Michigan and Michigan State should just root for whomever is last standing. Same with Indiana and Purdue. Should Iowa be going for Iowa State, or Wisconsin for Marquette?
Root for whomever you want, but it's not ridiculous for fans to not want fans right down the road to have bragging rights. Imagine a kid being recruited by Creighton and Nebraska. Imagine the kid transferring between the two every year based off who he feels is better that year. I mean it's all in the family right?
Ya I donāt get why people think you should root for another team because they are in your state or conference. Do these people honestly think North Carolina fans are rooting for either Duke or NC State on Sunday. I donāt root for Creighton because I am a Nebraska fan . Itās as simple as that .

There isnāt a lot to brag about in Nebraska. Creighton is a much better team than the Huskers. Thatās just the way it is.
Being an fan of Nebraska and rooting for their rival is much more of a cuck thing, Nebraska isn't playing in the tournament so I will root for their rival is a lot closer to I can't bang my wife tonight so I hope my neighbor does.
Fair point. I think my perspective comes from being a casual fan of college hoops as opposed to a die hard. If Creighton had a football team and they played the Huskers every year - I would absolutely loathe them (ie Iowa State/Iowa).
Not sure what is worse, being a Jay fan or being married. Sounds about the same I guess.
As a lifelong Nebrasketball fan Iād give a limb for a sweet 16 run

I disagree first of all the local media projected creighton as a final 4 team and they drooled about it all season long, imo they would have struggled against a&m just like Nebraska did they get better seedings because they are more successful in the tournament I wonāt disagree on that but I donāt have to be a fan , Never been a fan of creighton and itās always a great day when their teams lose!

Creighton had 2 more tourney game wins this season than Nebraska has had in its history.
It was a tuff loss but 3 sweet 16 in 4 years aināt too bad. next year may dip a little but we will be back soon. Good recruiting class coming in. Very similar to 2021-2022 season.
HS recruiting doesn't matter anymore. The Jays have great NIL money, so that will help but if you are trying to recruit HS kids in the hopes of developing them you are just going to become a farm team.
Some 18 year old kid trying to play against a 22 year old with 70+ games of college experience and 3-4 years in a college weight room is a disaster.

I'm in the minority but I think Kalkbrenner and Alexander will be back at Creighton next season.

Two rumors and of course they are just rumors...Alexander thinks he is a first round NBA pick and the center might be shopping around, trying to get one last big NIL deal.
The play by play guy for the Jays also think Alexander is gone for sure.
Scheiermann is pretty good. Before that, his last big transfer get was probably Marcus Foster.
We still managed to win 20+ games. For Nebraska basketball, that is a successful season.

A little self awareness would go a long way
Yeah I hear all that talk about Alexander, but I don't think his feedback from the NBA pundits is going to be very positive. I just don't see him getting drafted before the back half of the second round. Doesn't mean I don't think Alexander's a good player. Hell, KJ Simpson from Colorado is a beast, and he's in the same boat. Really good college guard, but not a guy the NBA goes crazy over.
And yeah I'm sure one or both might bolt for a better NIL deal. They'd be crazy not to be looking, since those windows will close in a hurry.
Hah you really donāt understand sports do you? You really think Nebraska was playing at the same level early in the season vs the end? Nebraska rolls crayton at home if they played later in the season.
