I doubt if he takes a B1G job but the way Florida, Florida State are looking and depending on what UCLA does... Ooowee

I've heard many hypothesize that Butler was hired as his replacement. It would make sense. If true, Coach Rhule is a genius.

He's not going to be here for 20 years. He'll leave if there's the right opportunity. And Coach Rhule will wish him well. Might as well accept it.
No problem accepting it. I just know that White has had his side of the ball humming since day one, this team wouldn’t be anything without him.

As a general rule, NU should not be a place for a football coach to learn the nuances becoming a head coach. Neither is Florida or Florida State. Most likely, he will have opportunity to take a lesser job.

Edit: but it could be a lesser job in the B1G or SEC. Like Purdue or Iowa.

What an odd take.

I think Iowa would look at a legacy coach. Somebody like Bielma or Stoops. But I would also be sad to see him go there.
I could also see them taking a run at Matt Entz. Former HC of NDSU, currently on Lincoln Riley’s staff. Grew up in Waterloo, would likely take the job if offered.

If he says no, I could see them offering NDSU’s current HC , Tim Polasek. Was Iowa’s OL coach from 2017-2020.

People should just enjoy this season IMO. There will be a lot of coaching churn across college football at the end of the season as there always is. And it is unpredictable right now as to which coaches will go where. And fans are powerless to influence it.

Yeah, this is a good take. One of the best things in the 90s was watching the team develop from a good to great to the best team, watching young guys develop over years into all-americans and watching recruiting and imagining those guys as heisman winners in 4 years. That just isn't the world we live in. Enjoy each game, hope for luck and health and don't expect consistency of 9-10 wins every year because a single coach leaving can hit the reset button, or you starting qb transferring or a group going to the NFL early.

Need to develop a couple guys below him one of which can take over the reins if/when he leaves.
