For the sake of honesty and disclosure I did get this thought from another site. We had a thread here about coaches. Herman is making $750000 @ FAU. What do y'all think about him being an improvement? Probly cost a couple mill to buy his contract out. I will hang up and listen.

Certainly an upgrade over what we have. And a coach with head coaching experience. I would take him.

I think he’d certainly be in the mix of viable options. He’s won 70% of his games as a head coach and no doubt wants another shot in the P5 after Texas somewhat controversially canned him.

Other than the years Lane was there, FAU has been a dumpster fire. Herman is 3-3 now, let's see how his season plays out.

Agree, will be interesting to see how the season plays out, especially Tulane. Two of those losses are to Clemson and Illinois (6 points) plus wins over Tulsa and blowout of South Florida.

Let's not forget he is following Willie Taggert so you know he stepped into a declining program. That's all Taggert does. See FSU and Oregon? I think it was. Not good

Well ya know Chadwell is making 4 mill a year at Liberty and idk what his buy out would be. If money was no object he would be first choice for me

Just for reference:

HOUSTON
2015: 13-1 (#8)
2016: 9-3

TEXAS
2017: 7-6 (3 straight losing seasons before he got there)
2018: 10-4 (#9)
2019: 8-5 (#25)
2020: 7-3 (#19)

FLORDIA ALANTIC
2023: so far 3-3, with 2 losses to P5 teams. Also taking over a team with 2 straight losing seasons.

Not a bad resume at all. Texas firing him should not hold us back because he was actually very solid there, 3 straight ranked seasons.
