To be fair, we did play a D3 school in what was essentially a scrimmage, so there is not a lot of interest.
And we played FDU which is very much the local team in the Record’s reach.

true, I also think SHU is expected to have a big season, and the Record will be right there throughout.... I would just hope that we get decent coverage if we over achieve.
Seton Hall is top 25 playing another school from the area and the Bergen Record is more of their area....RU played a D3 team in a game that shouldnt have been scheduled...do not complain

Gotta go get the papers, get the papers. I just follow Rutgers on rivals and what I see in person at the RAC. Not worrying about the papers

He is one of the writers for TMG college sports. I highly recommend subscribing to this. The best college sports coverage (mainly football) around.
Seton Hall is about 1 mile from the Ledger's offices in Newark. The Record is mostly a Bergen County paper. Go figure.

I thought these two papers were linked, by ownership, because some of the articles would appear
in both papers...... I stopped the star ledger a long time ago, so I could be wrong...
The Star-Ledger and The Record are now headquartered in Middlesex and Passaic countries, respectively.

at one time I had both the ledger and record delivered.... I stopped the ledger because I could not take the constant RU negativity..... the Record was not much better, but I find it hard to stop the habit of picking up a morning paper and reading it, with the morning coffee, breakfast.,..old habit.
My Ledger had an article on the SHU-FDU game as well as one on the RU win over CCNY. The Ledger though is not anywhere near the paper it was several years back. The sports coverage is now horrible. High school coverage is almost non existent and the college coverage on all teams in NJ is pathetic.
NJ.com has about 5x the content that the very thin newspaper now has. I stopped the real newspaper 5 years ago.
Why are people calling it The Bergen Record? The paper left Bergen County years ago for Passaic County... Woodland Park better known as West Paterson.
Why does anybody care what some two bit paper say's or doesn't say about RU Athletics? Matter of fact ALL 'news' papers are soon to go the way of the VCR, Record players, encyclopedias, and a good book, as a part of history. The written word was better served by Mesopotamia & the Sumerians, then anything coming out of a hack with a computer, and a reputation to establish, regardless of facts.
