Long time reader 1st time poster. I realized last night i spend more time yelling at the TV during a Cats game now then I do cheering them on and having fun. I don't want to be like that but this crap is hard to watch and wont change unless Cal wakes up and teaches these kids how to play college basketball and let the NBA prepare them for that stage of their careers. Cal always talk about confidence building with the kids so put them in situation that will create that instead of always having to grind out every game we play, we should demolish these team by 25-30 points but Cal will slow it down and let them right back in it. I know last night the officials were beyond terrible but we would have lost regardless due to lack of offense and zero defense in 2nd the half, Cal should be really embarrassed for that performance.
I'm am not one who wants Cal gone but he needs to get rid of his blinders and realize change is needed, I realized Iast night I also need to change and thats I will now be required to buy a 12 pack instead of a 6 pack to get thru these games.
I will always love my Cats no matter what GO BIG BLUE AND BUD LIGHT!!!!

I’m just going to watch from here on out the rest of the season and not get mad or frustrated at bad losses. I can’t control anything, so if we win, we win and if we lose, we lose. I’ll hope for the best for the rest of the season and let the chips fall where they may.

I'm with you on this and it's sad that it's come to that.

I’m right there with you. I actually chuckled when USC banked in that 3 last night. Maybe part of it is just getting older but I don’t know if that’s it. I just don’t buy in with this team. To me it’s filled with guys I’ll forget even played for UK a few years from now. And I know this team has little chance of making any noise in March and I’m not sure if most of the players even care if they make a run or not. It is what it is

The only change that is needed is he needs to go back to landing more of the absolute cream of the crop every year in recruiting. You wanna know why the rosters have holes? Multiple misses every single year.

All the more reason he needs to recruit basketball players by position and need and stop taking the highest 5 stars he can get regardless of position.

Never had friends in high places myself. Had to learn the hard way, but it’s been a fun journey getting to the pinnacle of alcoholism. Wouldn’t change a thing.

I'd call them more of acquaintances now days but we were cordial. I was nice to them and they were nice to me...a little business in between niceties but we were happy with the arrangement.

Had my share of homebrew too. My dad had seven brothers. His parents lived on the Y. Back in Middlesboro. Bunches and bunches of cousins. My Dad was the youngest.

Life as a sports fan can be a lot harder than being a UK fan under Cal, trust me. I’m a Bengals and Reds fan. I understand the frustration of wanting to win, but almost every year heading into the tournament Cal has had us with a legit shot to win the tournament. Enjoy the ride. Enjoy seeing the team get better. A few losses here and there aren’t the end of the world. There’s worse sporting lives out there than a loss to USC.

That’s really all a fan can do regardless. Getting all pissed off and acting a fool wont make them win. It’ll just ruin your day. Took me damn near 40 years to figure that out. Lol.

I only take the final loss of the season really hard now. Younger me stewed for days about every loss.

Same here. Bengals, Reds, and until recently UK football provided enough sports disappointment to last four lifetimes. I also survived Sutton, Tubby, and Billy. The Cal era is a walk in the park by comparison.

I'm getting tired of just recruiting ATHLETES I want pure basketball players I don't care if they can't jump out of the gym I want them to be able to play the game of basketball. Pass, dribble, rebound, defend, and SHOT MAKERS

I did when I was younger. Spent about 6 months in Middleboro before I joined the Army and lived there a short time after I got out. I only lived in that area a year or maybe two. I lived in the Gap in that old, used to be gas station at the bottom of the hill near the iron furnace.(we lived in the top part.) In fact I attended that old school house across the street the last year it was used as a school. I think I was in the third grade. Each row of desks in that room was a different grade.

We moved to noetown for a short while before moving back to Michigan. I went to that school about a half year. (Gets foggy. That was 50+ years ago.) The house I lived in noetown was built out of cinder blocks. (Never forgot that for some reason.)

Anyway thanks. Was nice remembering that. I think I was drinking that champale or something like that at the time I bought out of that place.(I remember that place being on the backside of the Gap.) I drank about anything back then. Funny I remembered drinking that but my friends liked wine and I never liked drinking wine...

Except the time at ft. Huachuca I drank two pints of hot Maddog before a GI party once...but that's another story...:oops:

A very beautiful area.
I was fortunate enough to get to spend 7 months in the gap as young man.
Went back about 4 years ago and marveled at the tunnel.

I am going back sometime this summer. My Dad is buried in Harrogate. I want to visit his grave.

I've taken the same mentality with this team. They can beat anyone or lose to anyone. I'm not going to get royally pissed off after we drop some games. Hopefully they can just put it together by March and be ready to ball against whoever we play. This is going to be a year in which seeding in the tournament really isn't going to matter.

Last time I was down there it was for a funeral.
The burial was on top of a mountain with the most amazing views.
