- This game is part of 4 team Exempt Tourney as Columbia will also play UMass Lowell and Sacred Heart in next 2 games- as will we.

- Surprisingly, Columbia only plays 2 P5 schools in their OOC Schedule - Us and Providence.

- Columbia's record last year was 4-22 and 1-13 in conference (Ivy).

- 3 of Columbia's top 5 scorers return this year led by Geronimo De La Rosa who averaged 12 PPG last year. Other returning scorers include Liam Murphy (12 ppg) and Josh Odanwa (9 ppg).

- Columbia appears to be a small squad with only 3 players who are 6'9" and taller.

ASSUME you mean 6'9 or taller. Used to be 3 6'9 players would be very good height...

Last year in league play Columbia averaged a hair under 73 possessions per game.

We did not have ANY regulation games at that tempo, our highest was 71.

I am not sure I can conclude they play fast because their defense was so awful. It is possible their tempo numbers are up only because teams scored on them so fast.

Columbia hasn't faced a Power 6 opponent since 2019-20(6-24) where they faced 3 opponents

2018-19 they face RU(14-17) 65-68(OT) and NW(13-19) 54-75 late December.

They are starting a Jr, a Sophomore, and 3 true freshmen tonight. Quite the baptism for their newcomers

Facing off against Omoruyi (6-11/240) will be freshman Zine Bedri (6-10/225), soph Robbie Stankard (6-9/240), and soph Jake Tavroff (6-9/245).

Last year, Stankard was 6th in total minutes played with 317, with 3.0 pts/2.5 rb in 14.4 min/g. Tavroff was 13th in minutes played with 174, with 2.1 pts/1.1 rb in 7.4 min/g.

Bedri played one post-grad year at DME Academy, coming in from Algeria, where he averaged 18.2 pts/9.0 rbs. Not much info out there on him as a recruit.
