whoever we hire will be okay if they can just take care of these three phases of the game.

One score losses magically become one score wins on that alone. Then we can build from there.

Pretty much wrong.

When someone gets overpowered ...

When a Husker is not as fast as an opponent WR, RB or pass rusher.

When a Husker tackle can't bend to get his full strength on a pass rusher. And in doing loses his center of gravity and balance.

OT play. Kicker. Punter. Those 3 things would have won us several more games this year. Hell just the kicker and punter likely cost us at least 2 games this year over 2 top 10 teams.

It's not out of the question that a kicker like either Brown's or Henery could have made this team unbeaten, even with all the other issues. Imagine the ability to hit those 45-50 yarders with a high rate would have potentially done to almost every outcome.

At the end of the day, Frost MUST start to pay attention to details. I've always said, "it's the little difference that makes the big difference."

I think he was paying attention to special teams and in fact they did bring in multiple different punters and kickers to try to fix those areas. He fired his special teams analyst and brought Dawson back. That helped our kick coverage. It wasn't Dawson's fault that our punter mishit a punt at Michigan State. Even NFL teams struggle at times with their kickers. Not as much with punters but to get to that level as a punter you've got to be damned good. Some NFL teams will go through multiple kickers until they can find a guy who can consistently make short field goals.

We don't have the luxury of bringing in free agent kickers every week. Hell our kicker was All B!G last year. Who would have thought that he would lose his mind this season? The level of unpredictable crap that hit us with our kicker and punter this year was just a killer and I don't think there was any way to plan for it.

My main concern going forward is QB decisions and OT play. Fix the OT play and it probably helps the QB's confidence and his decision making. We'll find a better punter I'm guessing and hopefully our kickers can get their heads right. Our OTs against OSU were getting destroyed in pass pro. HAVE to fix that. IF we can get Teddy back 100% by next fall that would be a huge help iMO.

I didn’t know you were stupid on this board too. Thanks for letting us know.

Why the hell do you think we rank so high in offensive and defensive categories compared with the amount points we actually score?? How does one pay so little attention and still trot themselves out on this board?

That goes without saying but even with this line we would have win 5 more games with those 3 positions being competent. Maybe more than 5.
With just an average oline we'd probably be sitting at least 6 wins right now.

Same people who thought we'd be better with Armstrong are the same people that think we'd be better off without Martinez.

I am not a fan of AM coming back. That said if he is that much better than LS than yes we may be better now with Adrian which is ridiculous because AM single handedly lost us games and never steps up in crunch time to win games. Not having a better QB is on Frost.

Which games did he single handedly lose for us? In any of those games in which you think he single handedly lost you're telling me you can't think of any other position groups or players that negatively impacted the outcome.

Team sport.

That's not saying Martinez is some great qb, cuz he isn't. Dude makes plenty of mistakes, some of which are pure wtf misktake. Frost dropped the ball not bringing in a more competition for that spot.

The new OC will tell Frost these words "find the Exit doors and we will see on Saturday." Then things will be better.

I mean fundamentals is one word. So lets start with learning that.
Fun- Gotta stop thinking so much and go have Fun and make plays.
Da- Need some coaches to be fathers (Irish 'Da') and not friends. A little more tough love would help.
Mentals- So much self inflected pain. Gotta get over the Mental hurdles and learn how to win again.

my 3 words no more Adrian
It's pretty humorous that people think that Adrian Martinez is a reason why the team is 15 and 27 over 4 years. They never seem to mention the fact that for 4 seasons hes had 0 help up front

I agree but I also believe frost relied to much on him to make up the deficiencies elsewhere on the offensive side, it would be better for both parties to part ways Adrian can get a fresh start and frost do A better job of filling the voids with jucos and the transfer portal hopefully the offense will be well rounded better use of the talent
