I am very late to this party, just getting to watch the game. Can someone tell me where Sakima Walker was? She has been playing so well for a frosh on both sides of the court. Would have had a strong person to guard NEB. big lady.
I truly hope they can pull it together before next game vs Purdue on Thursday. This was a game we should have won obviously but Arella never got going and was way, way off. Can't imagine her having another subpar showing.
2-16 from 3 point land? No comment.
Mael Gilles was basically a non-existant player in her 33 minutes. Diamond continues to impress in her 1st few games as a frosh.
I couldn't count # of dressed bodies behind the bench, but others were missed as well?
Obviously no Zippy was a real shame as well.
Very disappointed, but, fight, fight, fight, and fast.

Very disappointing loss to Nebraska. RU had the more talented athletes but not the better team. Our team simply had no offensive flow. Typically the team generates much of its offense from its defense. Today they had to rely on their half court sets as they shot poorly, couldn't score and set up the "55" to press. In its half court sets ( not a team strength the past few years) the offense was stagnant, limited to mostly 1 on 1 match-ups with several forced shots, minimal ball movement, screens or pick & rolls. Never was the ball moved from outside to inside then outside for a 3 point attempt.

in the half court, the offense depends way too much on Rella who shot 3 for 24 with many forced shots AND played the entire 40 minutes. This is INSANE! She's a terrific player, but even great players need to watch the game from the bench for a couple minutes particularly when they are pressing. Let her watch, relax, and reenter the game rested. Coach needs to trust players on the bench, even if it's only for 1 or 2 minutes. Realize Zippy was out, but AG should have sat for a spell (she was forcing lots of shots).............Diamond can take over a larger role when AG sits.

Totally agree...I couldn't figure out why Arella wasn't taken out for at least a few minutes. Play in the paint, both on offense and defense, was awful. It was painful to watch. RU seems to have one or two of these clunkers every season...hard to figure out.

I know that a game should not come down to the last shot, but this is often the case with basketball. I am a long time fan and CVIV's end of game management is sometimes questionable at best. When you get the ball back with around 30 seconds to go and your down you call a time out and decide what to do. Do you want to go for the quick shot, do you want to go for three to win or do you want to run the clock down and take the last shot? There are options, but you need to run a play. Yesterday we just inbounded the ball and took an ill advised shot with around 15 seconds on the clock. We did extend the game with some quick fouls, but it seems we did not have a plan for the last shot. I love Arella and the ball should go to her at the end of games, but when the double team comes, as we know it will, we have to have a plan. There I feel better now, thanks for letting me vent!!

Walker was banged up. Her loss was felt obviously. This team is struggling to replace the offense that Jordan Wallace game them last year.
Missing Zippy obviously hurts, as good offensively as Diamond is, she is not yet the point guard that Zippy has developed into.
On the road again this weekend , at Ohio St. Tough stretch.

Purdue at home first.
