Anyone else surprised the Huskers have never had a Thorpe winner? We've had quite a few great corners and safeties over the years and it seems like they should have had one.
I feel like NU gets screwed when it comes to the CFB awards -- How can they only have 1 Maxwell Winner? That trophy has been around for 80 years (1937)!! I'm surprised NU only has one Butkus Award too, and have never had a Thorpe winner. Tommie Frazier deserved the Heisman, but since he didn't get that he should have had the O'brien, and the Camp or Maxwell or both to go with his Unitas Award. There are several other guys deserving of more awards but I won't list them all.

At least NU has more Outland Trophies than, any other school, and by quite a few. They also have the 2nd most Lombardi Awards.

As for the Thorpe Award... Who would you say are Nebraska's top 5 DB's and Top 5 Safeties? Just curious how others would list them and if they think like I do that NU should have won a Thorpe Award by now.

At safety I would go with:
Mike Brown
Mike Minter
Bret Clark
Josh Bullocks

At CB:
Ralph Brown
Barron Miles
Michael Booker
Ty Williams
Prince Amukamara
Great list. Going back a little farther, I would add Russell Gary. Lightly recruited as a RB, but moved to safety and never looked back. Was All-Big 8 a couple of times and had a nice NFL career.

Going back even farther, Pat Fischer was a great two-way player for the Huskers and played for what seemed like a lifetime in the NFL.

Possibly in college but Prince is still collecting a paycheck in the NFL. Dennard on the other hand pulled an all time bone head move punching a cop the night before the draft costing him millions.

yeah, im purely talking about how good they were here. LP > Ahman, even tho.....

The best corners I've seen play here imo are Barron miles and Tyrone williams.
