Two of the better programs in the state, historically, matching up for the first time! Match up comes about 20-15 years too late but better late than never right? Here’s for an exciting game next Friday and a BULLDOGS WIN!

But yeah, regardless of the record it's Swain county. Expect them to play good defense wanting the upset. Bulldogs need to come ready to play and limit mistakes.

We have to clean up the turnovers. Last night we were trying to throw it 40yds into double coverage. Just bonehead plays, BUT LOOK AT HOW FAR I CAN THROW IT.
Swain made way too many mistakes last night. At one point the teams committed 3 back to back turnovers, not to mention the many botched snaps both under center and in shotgun. Swain was lucky WSP couldn’t find much consistency/the D was playing well or we wouldn’t even be talking about the 2022 Devils anymore.
If its raining I like our chances but their are a run heavy team and we have defined the pass better
Two 1000 + yard rushers, a shifty QB and stingy defense await Swain. Looking forward to seeing what happens Friday night.
This game could be an old fashion slug fest with these two Defense, as Swain Defense is nasty and has held a lot of the SMC RB's in check this year. The Offense side of the ball is were Swain has had up and downs all season.
Just kick the onside kick and give our kids a shot at the ball too.
Game has been moved to Thursday still at 7:30.
THS line has greatly improved during the season. OL has good size and is well coached. They have paved the way for two 1000 yard rushers this season. DL is big in the middle and athletic on the edge. They have seen every kind of offense (smash mouth, spread, trickery) so they are ready.
I'm a fan of the squib kick or just kicking it along the ground as hard as you can. But the years where we had kids who put it in the end zone consistently was nice.
Well we (Draughn) would love to take our shot......Dula over a 1000 yards on about 90 carries playing in 6 games......Cunningham is at around 800.....he was the leading rusher lastweek......Tillery is close to 2000 passing 29 or 30 tds with 4 int......and he rushed for about 400 yards. Not even talking about there big DL and fast hard hitting backs.
MA kicks it in endzone everytime. That's huge!
Looking forward to it if both get by the second round. Will be a good ball game as any third rounder should.
Go Dogs... I'd like to see this one but probably will be in Tville next week if things break the way I think they may occur
Seems from what I’ve seen and read all year that swain relies heavily on their defense and don’t have much of an offense (barring the win in Cherokee 2 weeks ago). My worry is can the dogs score enough points to win as that’s been their weakness all year
Swain DLine will give Thomasville fits all night and 3 or the 4 are sophomores which is scary for the next few years. Swain Offenses has been the issue all.season but the last 3 games they been getting better and if they can keep the turnover down they will have a good chance winning this game. Cherokee was the best we done on Offenses all.season so if that team show up look out.
All their games are on YouTube and seen a few games. number 5 and 7 are ballers for sure and should be a good match up for swain Dline and LB

Bulldogs have outscored opponents 351-139 this year. Scoring 31.6 ppg and allowing 12.6 ppg. - swain has scored 187, 17 ppg and allowed 204, 18.5 ppg. This may not mean a thing but then again it may -
Dogs are healthy and clicking. Swain DL is solid but they have not faced two RB's and QB with the Dogs open field speed. Dogs will have several long runs and score plenty to win this game.
Swain played the hardest schedule in all of 1A and 7 of 10 team on their schedule made it to round 2.
If Swain turn over the ball it will be a long night for the Devils but if they limit the turnover we will be in for real good game, also the SMC has a few ok RB

I expect a great game of two storied traditionally strong teams with 16 state titles between them. The Dogs are a spread team but make a living running the football. Swain is a running team also so it will be fun to watch. I have seen my fair share of very good SMC RB's over the last 40+ years in NC High School football. I have doubts about the toughest schedule, but I may be wrong. Good luck and safe travels to Cushwa Stadium. I can't remember if it was Simmons or Massey or who but one had Swain at first.
