If so, btango, that may be the only time all year. We lost a lot, including perhaps our best coach.
Im confused. Whay happened to both these programs? They used to be loaded annually.
Can't answer for Albemarle, but here's Thomasville's demise in a nutshell.
Influx of Latino kids, who generally don't play football, but increased Thomasville numbers from 1-A to 2-A.
Change in administration from one that valued discipline and character education to one that valued data and artificial graduation rates and test scores.
Retirement of a Hall of Fame coach because he was ignored and no longer allowed to do his job.
Out of control staff turnover that resulted in even worse discipline.
Loss of community support.
Avoidance of the school system due to the above.
That about covers it.
I suspect the Blue Dogs' saga is even more tawdry.
We're on our 7th coach in 7 years....School Board is a mess...Bad principals the last several years..No community support....Lots of kids going to North Stanly and Grey Stone......It is sad beyond words OC.....
Discipline and Character may have started all of this at Albemarle. In 2013 Albemarle had a decent Team and it hasn't been that long at Thomasville. Other than changes in Coaching, both are Mysteries
