Ya could not agree more. We are consistently bad and it is time to move on. All time low this year.

agree and waiting another year only puts the next coach further down into the abyss...when you think that you cant get any lower, it does get lower. Need to nip this in the bud now...this team will win only maybe 7 games this year. Need a fresh change. Hobbs needs to be preparing ideas NOW for who he will go after and who is willing to come in and coach this mess

No point in changing the coach unless you are going to invest in a practice facility that at least puts us on par with Monmouth and NJIT. No point in spending the buyout money on Eddie without a concrete facility plan. Save the money and invest it in other sports.

We cannot lose to GWU by 34 points in his 3rd year. We just cannot. I love Eddie, and really wanted this to work, but this needs to stop. Please call Tommy Amaker. Now.

They also held onto a scholarship because they couldn't bring anyone in. Think we could use that right about now? How about the spot we gave Nigel?

Two ships that could have helped this team.

Recruiting and coaching are not happening and Hobbs has to make a change

Speaking of Monmouth and NJIT, they both have coaches much better than ours

Changing coaches sounds like the sensible thing to do but how has that worked in the past 25 years?Without improved facilities whoever is the coach has nothing to sell .The players don't make shots and the fundamentals are better performed at the high school level. As long as there is no sense of urgency on the part of the athletic department the mens basketball program will continue to have no relevance and the dwindling fan base might start seeing games at the College Avenue gym.

We don't need a practice facility to have a coach with some clue on what he is doing.

Just horrible basketball, horrible recruiting. We might not be able to bring in much talent, but at least it should look like it has a plan.

Give me Monmouths team. I'll be ecstatic at this point.

disagree...we are paying a guy over $1 million to coach his team to 21 losses in the last 25 games and potentially 40 losses in 47 games by years end. That to me is a waste of money

As I said on the RT, Hobbs is a BB guy first and foremost and thus EJ's tenure is very shaky at best.

However unless EJ does what Cuddyer did with the Mets and bows out gracefully - I see EJ here until the end of the 2016/17 season - with 1 year left on his contract.

EJ's stature at RU and the unwillingness and inability to raise funds for another HC buyout will cause another year for EJ and Staff - to be coaching BB.

I say this every year, but it's worth repeating. I watch a lot of college bball. A LOT. High majors and mid majors.

the lack of talent in our program is astounding. It takes work to be as un-talented as we are. I look at every team--and I mean EVERY team on ESPN and all the others and they all have better players. Players that can shoot the 3. Can rebound. Can pass. Obviously Sanders and Freeman have talent but we need soooooo much more to even be competitive.

Our complete inability to be able to shoot the fracking basketball is maddening. For how long now??? 20 fracking years.

We simply can not get basketball players into this program.

What coach do you all think we're going to be able to attract here? Even Danny Hurley wouldn't take this job without a guaranteed 7yr deal.

A lame duck coach for 2016/17 would have a impossible task in attracting 4 recruits for next season unless they would all be walk ons.

The team from coaches to players is just PATHETIC. No skills, no brains, no heart. Brey was rights. Rutgers should have shut down the program after Rice. Still can, and maybe should, until the B1G money starts to come and we can get some competence in here.

Patrick, I saw the 1-3-1 zone that they ran. I knew we were in trouble. We can't pass the ball. And then Daniels throws his weak passes that get picked off. Sanders threw a pass right through the big guy. We need more talent. But to be honest teams like OSU and Wisconsin are struggling. Wisconsin lost at home to Milwaukee? Need Freeman back soon. Maybe Eddie should use a 1-3-1 zone. Our players would probably be in the wrong places.

Isn't not being able to handle a zone a coaching issue

Should find a reason he didn't pass a class, pull his degree, and the let him go for not having one.

He certainly is earning an F for his current job. So bad I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or throw up.

Coaching, but I also think freshman think they can throw lazy passes and at this level does not work. GW was all over the passing lane . And daniels might be the dumbest player I have ever seen. That was why that Wake Forest game was so difficult. Can't give away games.

This program is six feet under. There is nothing other than plain old luck that will turn it around. VERY similar to RU football under Shea. Who will be our Schiano?

Another thing I've said 20 billion times--why doesn't every team play zone against us at least 75% of the time? We have no threats to score. just force us to shoot the ball from more than 8 feet and the game is over.

It doesn't matter. Playing Rutgers is a glorified practice. They are working on things when they play us.

I still hope Eddie can turn this around but if not maybe we should offer the GW coach. He has averaged over 20 wins a season for 22 years of coaching. He has a 100% graduation rate. He was really into the game and has a very excellent bench. He has 6 All stars from the Wash DC area and I believe 6 from other countries. The team passed outstanding and has very good shooters. Everyone on the team could really play.

Art - Lonegan is a terrific HC however our next HC needs to be Danny Hurley.....who can recruit; can coach and has a charisma that will attract local kids...plus I'm sure Hobbs has a fondness for him - given his SHU roots

Supposedly Hobbs is tight with Amaker also. I would think at a minimum PH would ask TA for counsel or outright offer him the job if he is going to make a change.

Screw the facilities argument.

Eddie is a worse coach than Rice!

Look at the wrestling team.
Their facilities are even WORSE than the basketball team
If I heard correctly, they practice in the basemENT of the Barn?
Seriously?

They are excelling because they have good coaches who can set a vision, recruit, and provide excellent coaching.
Facilities are not holding them back.

It is not facilities.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE COACHING!!
(Yeah we need facilities improvements, but we don't need them to LOOK like a well coached team. We don't need them to be ranked in the top 200. I don't know what our rank is, but it is much closer to 350 than 1!)

7 Assist in a basketball game? This team c learly has no intention of playing for each other. Laurent led assist with two?

Recruiting the wrong people, I think.

He sucked too.

whatever the case at least he kept the program afloat of course until the tape blew up...his first season he inherited very little from Hill as Rosario was gone and yet he got that team playing hard every single game and despite the 15-16? record it really was a joy to watch that team compete. We are so far from that with similar talent the past 3 years.

“Their defense is unique,” Jordan said. “They play a 1-3-1 zone that allows you to do some things but then they clamp you down. It’s almost like a spiderweb — it looks pretty and you want to go in there and then all of a sudden, you see big people and they shut down the passing lanes and we didn’t have enough talent to get it done, to beat them tonight.”

tired of hearing Eddie say we don't have enough talent to do this, to compete, to make plays....ultimately talent is recruiting, and he is in charge as head coach to ensure good recruits...with nothing coming in 2016, there again will Not be enough talent to compete...4 years into his tenure...time for a change
