He's not going to run away from everybody, but man is he a load to bring down. I remember somebody made a Jervorski Lane comparison at one point, he really does run like him with a little more wiggle.

Do you think they weren’t playing him because they didn’t wanna piss off stepp and Morrison?

Hope not because that's not good coaching. Earn your PT. I'd rather have young guys rise to the top so we get them for a few years.

300 yards rushing tonight. Me likey

I think that’s really underselling how huge Javorskie Lane was.

Dude went Dan Alexander all over Northwestern in the first half.
Naw…he’s much better than Dan Alexander. DA was ALL upper body but take out his legs he went down easy. Plus DA didn’t hang on to the ball so well. DA was one of the oddest looking RBs we’ve ever had lol. Totally in a cartoonish way. He’s a Husker so I love him!

Alexander averaged over 6 yds a carry for his a career. Here’s hoping Yant can be close to as good as Dan.

Maybe, his playing weight is listed as 258 at 5'11" from what I can find. Yant is 6'2" and 245, so not THAT huge of a difference. That being said, Lane did weigh in at 277 at his Pro Day it looks like, so he may have actually played at a higher weight.

Yant had a nice spring, got a scholarship and then didn’t maintain the weight they prescribed and didn’t learn the playbook. It was one game vs a bad run defense. He came into the fall at nearly 260. Drop 20lbs and he finally sees the field.

I remember on one broadcast, one of the announcers described Alexander as a UPS truck turning the corner.
I remember one announcer described him as putting a Ferrari engine in a semi truck which is super idiotic … semi has a WAY bigger engine than a small v8 or v12 Ferrari

Frost said at the presser that he came to fall camp 25 lbs overweight and he wouldn't play him until he lost it. Maybe he's finally making his players accountable. I loved it when, it was either last week or the week before when he had the offensive line on the sideline and he was ripping their asses.

Accountability and ripping asses is needed from time to time. Coaches and players.

Allegedly came to fall camp 25lbs overweight.
Years ago, back in the early 80's, an overweight (at the time) fullback by the name of Mark Schellen was on an elevator with Charlie McBride. Schellen was pretty much unknown to Charlie but McBride asked him what position he played. Mark answered that he was a fullback. Elevator door opened, McBride, while walking out, told Schellen that "Nebraska doesn't have any fat fullbacks."

Wow! Laughing

Charlie was known to give an honest assessment.

Then he ran like a 4.38 40.

I've been clamoring for Yant all season, didn't know why we didn't see him on short yardage . I now know he had to lose weight, tone up, get in the playbook, and do things right according to Frost.

Remember the Alamo. . .Bowl. When Dan Alexander literally ran over Northwestern's defense. Like Yant did tonight.

Same here. Glad he made it happen. Thunder and lightning duo moving forward: Yant and Johnson!

You could tell Frost wanted to temper his compliments on Yant. I think he knows he can get a lot better and wants him to keep putting in work. He knows what he has if he puts in the work required.

The kid showed up for fall camp weighing 255+. He wasn't playing because he couldn't move. He said he's "down to 232". Just another wasted scholarship given to another worthless walk on...........says some posters.
