Don't forget the Cowboys' helmet stickers to honor the fallen Dallas PD officers. UNACCEPTABLE!

I'm not saying that I want to see Kaepernick get his leg broken, if he ever gets off the bench.

I'm just saying that if it does happen... I won't complain.

I would just like to know which country is so much better for its citizens than this one.

This is where I try to educate people on the NFL's uniform policy versus a Constitutional Right. It really shouldn't be this difficult for people to understand. I personally don't like some of the stuff going on during the anthem and would never do it personally, but I'm just a white dude who's had it free and easy all his life.

The NFL doesn't give a ****. They have a uniform policy and dress code like Steinbrenner and the Yankees. I find it refreshing. It's indiscriminate. If you stray from the uniform policy, you get fined. That goes for everyone. There's no favorites. It doesn't matter what your cause is. You know the deal. Sack up. If you're willing to take the fine for whatever cause it is that you're promoting, I respect you even more. That shows commitment.

I just have to laugh at the folks who act like Roger Goodell is equivalent to the liberal media conspiracy. When he helps stomp out the Player's Union -- the weakest in professional sports -- or doles out discipline to some of the morons in the league acting a fool and collecting a check, he's the truth. When he gives stump jumpin' Trump humper Tom Brady the business, he's a liberal ******* with too much autonomy. As if this all wasn't collectively bargained.

Good times.

The Blue Lot is all kinds of fun tonight.

I'm confused. Do we want the NFL to allow players to express themselves or not?

You either put regulations in place that ban both customized uniforms and player protests or you deregulate them both. Can't have it both ways.

Play the National Anthem before the players come out...no more opportunity to 'protest' during the National Anthem by the players

That is legitimately the most intelligent thing I have heard all day.

But why take away the ability for every other player (including players who served in the military) to come out and salute the country's anthem? This is not the solution.

The solution is to regulate etiquette for the national anthem and fine players for not following regulations, just like uniform modifications. If they are willing to pony up the cash for doing something they believe in, then so be it.

Sarasota I got a question for you. So you say there isn't a liberal media bias ? How would you explain the numerous reports I just saw from CNN and msnbc about how it was no wonder Clinton fainted yesterday due being over heated since it was horribly hot, excessively humid etc etc according to several different reporters and anchors who were in NYC at the time. Crazy thing was is it actually was 77 with a cool breeze and no humidity.

The same media outlets you have cited have spent the last 36 hours talking about nothing but.

Having had pneumonia twice, I don't find it particularly shocking that someone with such a grueling schedule along with walking pneumonia might find themselves a bit unsteady after standing in a crowd for 1.5 hours.

I know that some may disagree.....but I wonder why we play the National Anthem at sporting events. I actually think it's overdone and one could say it is disrespected by the way it sometimes is performed. BTW.... I still think Kapernick is a world class *******.

Lets be real. They have the right to do that. We also have the right to disagree with it.

NFL doesn't like it but they are going to say/do the right things. Otherwise, they look like the ***.

Personally, I don't give a F to what anyone else is doing when the anthem comes up. For myself (former military guy), I only care about what I think of the national anthem and how much I like this country that we live in.

Great Post - and I liked the part about the easy life. Kapernick was raised by a good family. HE knows right from wrong. And he says he has been singled out by athorities many times with out real reason. I have a friend who also has a black adopted daughter. A member of the military that has served at least twice in either Iraq or Afghanistan. He has told me that she has been stopped and questioned many times just because of her race. Neither she not Kap have really been in the problem areas where there are realy issues and problems. Where many bad things happen.

Brandon, I get what you are saying and I liked the post. Just to be technical, the league can have it both ways if it wants. Different forms of expression here. As social commentary, the OP's message is legit. As for the NFL, more consistency is needed.

Really, who the heck cares about this? Is there really nothing else more important going on this country than whether or not players stand for the national anthem? Americans are a bunch of lemmings and that's part of the problem.

We really shouldn't care. I suspect the whole thing is a publicity stunt and a cry for attention and relevancy. The media shoves it in our faces and urges us to react. Unfortunately, we do, one way or another. We shouldn't be so easily manipulated.

Global Social Media has provided a means for anyone to be an instant rock star....at least in their mind. Not sure all of the information we fill our minds with is a good thing. It drives hate and discontent in a lot of cases but also a lot of good things are available that makes our lives better. I guess it's all up to the individual to use the information as he/she/shim sees fit. I have spent over 30 years designing and deploying the networks and equipment that allow a football player to protest and have everyone know about it in a second but it seems life use to be a lot more simple.

Does not address the root problem. Why not have the b@$$s to stand up and make a decision? This is nonsensical.
