The Iron Bowl and the Third Saturday in October will be preserved no matter what. The rest will be built out from that. The Egg Bowl will be preserved. The Cocktail Party will be preserved. Auburn-UGA will PROBABLY be preserved (This is the traditional one MOST in danger.) . The Red River Rivalry will be preserved. IF the SEC is smart Texas-Texas A&M will be renewed on an annual basis. I don't want to work that out but have at it. Those are the games you have to work around.

Switch UK and Auburn and you probably have the logical one if the "pod" turns out to to be the thing. . The Iron Bowl WILL happen every year. My guess is they also switch A&M and ARK if they do the pods, to placate the stupid Aggies. If they are in the same league as Texas, they damn well ought to play them every year.

It's one option for sure, but there are other options they could very easily go with. But if it is a pod system, most likely is that we'd be in a pod with Mississippi, LSU and either Arkansas or Texas A&M.

The pods don’t make sense to me, because nobody has more than 2 rivalries that need to be preserved. So there is no point in anyone having more than 2 permanent opponents.

Get rid of divisions and screw pods. Do 2 permanent / 7 rotating / 1 non-SEC Power 5, or do 2 permanent / 8 rotating / no non-SEC requirement. Under either of those formats, you play every team in the conference at least once every 4 years and at least 3 times every 7 years.

Great news on Tex and OU accepting invites (expected and planned but necessary). Win for all involved in SEC plus Tex and OU (except aTm, which loses its recruiting advantage). But aTm has a head start so it will be fine. Having Tex and OU play against The Pirate in Starkville once again and against other SEC schools will be a football fan’s dream. Will be fun to see how we and they compete. aTm has about the same record in SEC as it had in B12 but that may not be true as to OU and Texas. I just hope it begins in 2022!
