Maybe the coolest thing I ever remember during my college years decades ago was my Appalachia History professor talking about the "Curse of Tecumseh". Now, I don't believe in curses at all, or the supernatural, but this still to this day amazes me. For those that may not know, the story goes that after the Battle of Tippecanoe, a curse by Tecumseh and his brother was placed on the "Great Chief of the Americas" (POTUS). And in the years divisible by 20, it seems to have been the case.

1820: The road to the Civil War begins with the Missouri Compromise, as the American president and Congress begin "compromising" on slavery instead of dealing with it. This will lead to the spread of slavery, division in politics, and the Civil War.

1840: William Henry Harrison is elected POTUS, and dies quickly.

1860: Lincoln is elected, the Civil War begins, and Lincoln is eventually assassinated.

1880: James Garfield is elected POTUS and is assassinated.

1900: William McKinley becomes president. The United States begins its overseas expansion and involvement in foreign affairs. McKinley is assassinated.

1920: Warren Harding is elected president. The United States begins a "boom" economic time, but it was superficial and would ultimately lead to the Great Depression. Harding dies in office.

1940: FDR is elected president. American becomes involved in WWII. The atomic bomb starts the age of nuclear warfare. FDR dies in office.

1960: JFK is elected president. The scariest times of the Cold War erupt with Berlin and Cuba. JFK is assassinated.

1980: Reagan is elected president. He is shot in an attempted assassinated, but survives. Some said that this "broke" the curse, but it didn't.

2000: Bush is elected president in a disputed election. Further division between the political parties. America is attacked on 9/11, leading to an over decade long war overseas that becomes very controversial, and leads to even more division.

2020: Biden is elected president. We have COVID and lockdowns. Former President Trump is almost assassinated, and Biden leaves the presidential race after the primaries. The political situation in America is further divided.

So, I can't wait for 2040!!!!!!!!

It's kinda cool on one hand but on the other hand in 2000 and so far 2020 the president elected was not assassinated or attempted and so far didn't die in office plus the bad things seem subjective compared to the other presidents.

Yeah, the original author had to pull a MSM and make up the 2000 and 2020 to fit the narrative. 9/11 occurred in 2001 and the invasion began shortly thereafter. Not sure what that or Covid have to do with that savage cursing the POTUS.

Your claim about 9/11, I didn't say that the events took place in the year divisible by 20. Pretty sure Lincoln wasn't assassinated in 1860. Plus, it is not arguable that COVID was a divisive event for the American people and political parties, and was one of the reasons for a change in administration in November 2020.

Get it now? Why are you wanting to turn this in to another pissing contest? My intent was to share something. If you don't like it, then fine. You don't have to be a dick about it.

You know. The United States isn't legitimate because we took it from the Native Americans. Marxist Struggle Session nonsense.

It is a "curse" of the American president. So in 2000, Bush gets in office and has to immediately deal with a catastrophic attack on the American people that would consume his presidency. Then in 2020 the COVID lockdowns, closures, vaccines, etc. was a major political event that would become a talking point for November 2020.

It's a tough job for alot of reasons. Witch Doctor curses would be the least of my concerns if I had to do it.

I agree. That is why I said in the original post "Now, I don't believe in curses at all, or the supernatural, but this still to this day amazes me."

I don't give it a second thought. Life is tough and **** happens. My advice to Native Americans still living on reservations today is you should bevmore concerned about the Cartels. They are killing you as I hit post reply.

Not trying to make it a pissing match. It just seemed that 2020 and 2000 were contrived since there was no death or attempted assassination of Bush or Biden. I was assuming it was written by someone else and you just shared it.

The plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, was it heading to DC? Probably. Perhaps it was heading to the White House (Bush wasn't there, but did the terrorists know that)? But I think that there were at least a couple of plots or attempts to assassinate George W. Bush. I'll give it a look later, but I believe that is correct.

As for 2020, it still has to be written. Lot of moving parts and changes that could take place. Covid, Biden's age, perhaps he isn't around much longer?

I didn't write "Tecumseh's Curse". I only added the 2000 and 2020 because they are the most recent decades. Some say that Reagan "broke the curse", while others say that the curse wasn't about just killing the American president, but bringing down the United States. Regardless, I posted it just because it is something I find amusing, even though I don't believe it.

Got it. So you added the 2 years at issue, 2000 and 2020, to the previously written theory. I, like dave, assumed that was all from someone else, but your butthurt makes complete sense now.

I do find it funny as hell that the only 2 you added were don't fit the narrative. And then you whine when called out on it.
