Once the Press reported favorably on the NJIT plan to build a facility, they had to take a consistent position re: RU. Shows that they are not all bad and recognize the need to support the program.

The editorial pages haven't weighed in yet. But clearly this has helped. Our AD, coming from Louisville, knows how unacceptable this situation is. Hope she uses this momentum.

Talk about mens basketball and facilities will quickly fade away once spring football starts.Rutgers can't even keep up with maintenance of exiting buildings because of lack of financial resources.Deferred maintenance is a common refrain spouted by employees working at Rutgers.Everybody knows a plan of action is needed but with no sense of urgency time quickly passes onto other concerns with higher priorities.By now long suffering mens basketball fans should realize that another 7-10 years of waiting is the best we can hope for.

I always appreciate your insightful posts, but you're wrong here. There are changes going on behind the scenes. I know. I've seen them. And as the OP stated, this public debate has helped tremendously. Sometimes, bureaucrats need to be shamed before acting. This will NOT fade once spring football occurs. And we will not be waiting 7-10 years for this to happen.
