Lou, I hear ya. But how do you determine which team should win, if not based on their previous games performance? And if you do look at previous games, why not consider common opponents as part of that? Just sayin
Wasn't that opening night for them? They weren't terrible at Baylor the other night until things unravelled late.
Both teams are struggling right now and desperately in need of a win.

Jerry Carino has a good article on app.com on how the teams match up. He searches for reasons why the game should be close, then predicts SHU 63-60. But I get the feeling he's being kind and thinks it will be worse than that.

That aside, Sha will have the Pirates fired up for this game, make no mistake about that. And you can almost guarantee that at least one of Richmond, Dre Davis, or Dawes will go OFF against our defense, and that Addae-Wusu kid is the sort of under the radar player who will be a thorn in our sides.
Their C Bediako actually has a clue in the post, so going to need Cliff to put the clamp down on him and not get in foul trouble.
Big concern here is rebounding. SHU outrebounds opponents 37.6 to 31.1, and they have four guys averaging between 5.1 and 7.3 rpg. And our rebounding woes have been well chronicled.
So, with our struggles on the offensive end (we’re now a PUTRID #201 in AdjO on KenPom), struggles with rebounding, and historically poor performances at The Rock, I can’t see a win here.

A very telling stat with Rutgers losing 11 straight regular season games on the road against out of conference opponents.Its very difficult to win on the road without multiple scoring threats on the court In the end it always comes back to recruiting.
Degaz, rebounding-wise SHU outrebounded Iowa on the offensive glass 15-2, took 20 more shots, and still lost by 13.
I’m not saying rebounding isn’t an issue, but it can be overcome (hell, St.Pete had 16 offensive rebounds against us and we still won by 31).
And though 5-4 Iowa is probably better than us, besides beating SHU, their other 4 wins are against North Dakota, Alabama State, Arkansas State, and North Florida.

I think we get beat by double digits and its never close. Idk who on this team even thinks its a rivalry since we have like 10 new guys.
No my prediction remains the same. This fan base talks like he is Jesus Christ.
Excited that Mag is back, but don't expect him to have a significant impact in his first game back. Guessing he plays 10 - 15 minutes. Hall still wins going away.
