Whatever the line is, just double it. Expect we'll lose by 40 at least.

At least Pikiell won't be able to insult our intelligence by stating RU "won" the 2nd half.

Purdue beat Memphis by "only" 80-71.
Memphis is 2-4 and lost to UNLV 92-78.
Rutgers beat UNLV.

Purdue 72-70, with Rutgers winning the second half.

And that will be the theme of Pikell's press conference!!!

Look - there is going to come a game or two against decent teams that don’t start out with them nailing every 3 they take against us. I’m hoping that happens against teams we actually have a chance of matching up against well in the interior. That’s not Purdue… I think (expect) this one will get ugly quick like Tenn whether they shoot 50% from 3 or not. Isn’t a good match up for us.

Purdue is not always sharp especially if they get off to a slow start. I suppose there is some chance RU can hang in and make it a game for a half

Maybe - but I’m more interested in games where I see a realistic path to us winning. I know you don’t agree, but I think there are a decent number of games on the schedule that could conceivably be winnable on a day where our opponent isn’t shooting that well from the perimeter. The killer first half substitution pattern has to go or at least be drastically modified. Outside of that, we’ve been pretty decent this year defending the interior. The exception to that has been situations where our opponent came out nailing everything and just never cooled off (CC and TN - we rode out the storm in the Lehigh and American games). In those situations, he eventually had to extend the D out to the perimeter to stop the bleeding.

UNLV shot 24% against us from 3 (below their season average) and it certainly wasn’t because our perimeter D was better that game. I don’t know how often conference teams will shoot below 30% against us from 3, but well at least have a chance of winning in most of them when they do (not tonight tough)…

At the 16 minute mark of the 2nd half, Purdue will go up by a game high 30 points. Over the remaining 16 minutes RU cuts that in half.

Final score 88-73. RU covers and gamblers across the nation are annoyed with Matt Painter.

If Purdue doesn’t have a 30 point lead at some point in the second half, I’ll be very very surprised. They will beat us from the inside, our lack of backup Center will show tonight.

Don't know by how much Purdue will win by, but pretty sure this is going to be the Oregon game for the basketball team.

Purdue 88 Rutgers 69

Purdue has lost 7 of the past 8 B1G away openers including Harper's buzzer beater. Purdue lost to Penn St last year and Northwestern the year before. Who knows?
