Think this will be a tight one. Rutgers defense is slightly better than Purdue's per Kenpom and Purdue has had trouble winning there. Omoruyi can handle Edey straight up. Purdue's other players will need to be at their best if they want to come out on top here.

Pike has done well against Purdue in the past so there is some hope. However, I just don't think we have enough talent to topple Purdue. We go down by 15 early, fight back to within single digits, then get blown out.

Purdue is better at every position, has a better bench, a better coach, and the road doesn’t bother them. Unfortunately, this isn’t two years ago when we had some alpha dogs, played excellent defense, and Edey was a freshman.

We just have no offense to pull this off. I think Purdue will take this opportunity to banish a lot of demons and getting knocked out of #1 twice by RU. The rest of the road ahead is looking pretty bleak.

The three best teams in the league are Purdue, Wisconsin, and Illinois. I'm not going to take the time to verify this but we could be the only team that has to play those teams 6 times. No bueno.

Unlike Indiana, Purdue will use this season to exorcise their RU demons. We have had their number but we don't have the toughness to bully them this season. That said, I do think Cliff has enough experience against Edey to keep a lid on him. The deficit will be a function of their perimeter shooting. If they crap the bed in that department, we could steal it. But I'm not counting on it.

If Cliff stays out of foul trouble and Purdue has an off shooting night, we can keep it close if we shoot well.

If things go bad for us.... it could get real ugly. I can't see slimmed down Wolf having any shot of stopping Edey. Hoping we see Ogbole debut to give some minutes since he has the physical mass to at least fight for position

Rutgers was able to defeat Purdue in recent years because they had Baker,Harper and Spencer to make shots at crunch time. This seasons team has no go to scorers .Edey will probably score 30 points and take at least 10 foul shots.

Agree with others that Purdue exacts revenge for beating them 2 years in a row when they were #1. This will be a 20pt + blowout.

This might finally be the game that the Purdue backcourt shooters break out against us. When we've beaten them their guards played terribly. Our lack of size at the guard spot is going to allow them to be more comfortable. And the arms and physicality of non-front court players like McConnell and Mulcahy helping out that made the Purdue bigs work hard for their points is a thing of the past. We'll trail at some point by 30 but will close it up a little with our usual 40 minute effort in garbage time. Still, can't see us competing this time around.

I think we should suit up with our commerative RHJ or Cam or Geo uniforms honoring buzzer beater wins of games past. We have had some classics vs Purdue.

If that doesn’t work, then we should suit up with our commerative FDU / St Peter’s / North Texas uniforms honoring chokes of past March Madness from Purdue.

If neither of the above works then we put on stilts to defend Edey.

I think we play Purdue tough for first 25 minutes and then Purdue breaks away.

82-70 Purdue.

I’m also hoping Ogbole is released from Witness Protection as I can see him foul out in about 5 minutes vs Edey today.

RU wins today if Jordan, Dabney and Copeland play! Honoring these 3 today is a win regardless of the Purdue game

This is the best Purdue team over the past 4-5 years and our worst team. We’ll play tough, probably fall down by 10 in first half, rally to cut it to 6-8 at the break, they’ll extend the lead back to 12-14 with 12-13 minutes left and we won’t answer this time. The only exception to this narrative has been Nebraska when we had a second comeback.

Rutgers +10.0, O/U 140.5 (O/U 8-2)
The 2 unders, our 2 wins vs #1 Purdue, vs(21-22) and @(22-23)

Last 10, 5-5, last7, 5-2, last3, 1-2
LAST 10 ATS vs Purdue, Rutgers 8-1-1 (17-18 to 22-23)
Rutgers since 18-19, 10-2 as home underdog and 11-1 ATS

It will be close and should cover. Cliff has and can defend Edey
Hopefully the weeks rest and wins at home vs IND and NEB becomes a positive.

I honestly feel the way I used to feel going to a football game under Chris Ash.
