It is actually a really open year as far as teams that CAN win it. There is no true 'powerhouse" team out there that is crazy dominant at the moment. Could be a bracket buster sort of year, and I am even going as far as to say I would be surprised if more then one top seed makes it to the FF. Admittedly, it is a lot of conjecture at this point til we see the bracket, because a lucky draw could actually mean more this year then ever.

Probably the first time where I would give someone their choice of 4 teams, and then I would get the field, and feel like I have better than a 50% chance of winning.

I'll admit I like Gonzaga's team a lot, and the advanced metrics suggest they are about 5.25 points better than the next closest team (Villanova). That's a pretty healthy margin, but Gonzaga always seems to under-perform when it gets a high seed in the dance.
Plus, they haven't faced much in the way of competition in that $ack of **** conference. It could be a real $hock for them when they start actually playing good teams in March.

Hard not to believe that those advance metrics are unable to account for extremely poor schedules.
Kind of like that old adage of not knowing what you will do until you get punched in the mouth.
Athleticism and physicality are difficult to quantify.
As long as we are comfortable in our own skin, we should be able to keep playing the next play.
