And unlike pelini, at least the pirate is hilarious when he gets mad
He's not being brought in to hire Leach. No way. He's either gonna retain Riley or hire Frost. Only options on the table and right now Riley needs to start winning if he wants to stick around. It would require probably an upset of PSU and Iowa.

Hope that's not true. I'd be pumped for Leach. His style would fit our current offensive talent pretty good. And he's funny. But I mostly want him because he wins. And because he's funny

We surly didn't hire an AD that going to keep Riley around other wise what was the sense in firing Hoody Doody..

Mike Leach wouldn't be the worse hirer but we are assuming that he would be taking him with him..

At least we have passing QB in the program.

I don't care about his age, stature or resume. You wanna start playing more physical ball, you hire a Moos for your AD! Awesome! Welcome, and good luck, Mr. Moos.

Hoody Doody got canned for the totality. Hired by HP. Pissed off TO. Pissed off fans with the friday night games thing. Made some really awkward public comments starting with his Iowas comment in firing Pelini. I do think it is correct that they got rid of him before he could screw anything else up (in the view of the powers that be). Mike Leach isn't coming to NU.

The problem with his age is - what coaches would want to come here knowing the athletic director probably won't be around very long?

You would be the gem of the class then, PTC. Most would lose their ****. Maybe not right away. But when he would line up five wide on 3rd and 1? Mmmm. So much **** losing.

If you are Langs and you know your are going to get fired ... do you line up and run fullback dive/trap every single play against Iowa?

5 years at 3 million or more per year is a lot of money. I wouldn't worry about it. ADs are like preachers. You need to change them out about every 5 years so they don't accumulate too much power.

That is why I said assume Leach is coming to Lincoln with him...

Do you believe this Moos guy is going to keep HCMR for another year??

He should know Riley well enough being from the Pac 12 that he was going to be fired in Corvallis.

he's gonna do whatever the guys that just hired him want him to do and he isn't hopefully going to make the same PR blunders that SE and SP made. IF they want Riley to stay he'll stay. IF they want him gone he'll do that. It IS that simple. SE was HP's guy and when HP retired, SE's days were numbered with all the ill feelings behind the curtains. All it took was a half of football at Oregon to get the ball rolling. Now we've got a Bounds/Green/Hawks guy.

it looks like Moos was let go after getting into a spat with Phil Knight

"Moos left Oregon in 2007 after a dispute with Nike founder Phil Knight, who made significant donations to Oregon athletics programs.[4] He had signed an agreement which paid him $200,000 a year for not taking an administrative position at a BCS conference university west of the Mississippi River. During his hiatus between 2007 and 2010, Moos took to raising beef at his Valleyford, Washington ranch.[4] The exact reasons for his resignation from Oregon are unknown, but the dispute with Knight regarding funding for an arena to replace the aging McArthur Court "strained a bit toward the end."[5] After Moos resigned, Knight donated $100 million towards the building of a new arena for Oregon.[5]"

It's pretty clear that Moos is being brought aboard for the sole purpose of pissing off Warren Buffett and getting a massive donation bounty put on his head. He probably has language in the contract stating that he is to receive a percentage of the donation.

Though, has he ever hired a coach known for playing physical ball?

Ask Joe Daley and Beau Davis. TTech nearly killed them. AND their offensive linemen down there were HUGE. They didn't run it much but they when they did they would run over you.

Bill Moos' decision to leave as the athletic director at Washington State for Nebraska is a direct result of growing friction between him/the WSU athletic department and university president Kirk Schulz, who arrived from Kansas State in June 2016. Moos twice asked for a contract extension and was rebuffed both times, according to multiple sources. Said one: “Kirk Schulz has been awful for athletics. Since he arrived, it has been tense and awkward and difficult.”

Leach is 1-2 against the Big Ten in Wazzu. Losses to Rutgers and Minnesota on the West Coast. Lone win was at Rutgers. All the games were within a possession.

Mike Riley is going to get fired. In the minds of Bounds and Green he is already gone
