I can respect his decision. Sucks, but makes sense. His Hc and his DC gone. Not surprising.

It’s pretty common when coaches leave the program.. Ask Oklahoma when Riley left for USC..

We need a new coach who can manage to keep a few guys we got now and QUICKLY bring in some new talent. That’s a monumental task, even with NIL, etc.

Hopefully the new coach doesn’t take a private jet funded by Nebraska to coach his old team while being paid by Nebraska.
Instead of recruiting for Nebraska

And then Venables brought in a guy like Kanak from Kansas (someone we were after, of course no match to land once OU wanted him) who completely owned our entire team as a true freshman.
We weren’t just getting embarrassed by a bunch of Seniors out there…. a true frosh from Kansas made us look silly.

Meanwhile, our former All-American OL tandem from Kansas and Minnesota followed up their historically low PFF grading from 2021 with some terrible performances against OU despite now having years in the program.

Something just screams development to me.

Tough crowd.
Looks to be a talented kid. Hope he reconsiders when we get a new coach (unless we can get someone better of course)

With the transfer portal, these arent going to sting as much as a couple of years ago. We need a complete rethink on linebackers —- speed, speed and more speed.

What kid wouldn't want to decommit? You mean you might bring in a coach that will yell at me and maybe even cuss me out for making a huge mistake that cost us the game? Oh I want nothing to do with that. Frost is soft as Charmin.

Not one commitment to Nebraska means anything right now with all the turmoil. And there's likely to be a flood of transfers out after the end of the season. Just the reality of an uncertain situation.

If Alberts were to hire someone like Leipold I would expect Leipold to clean house as far as some scholarship players are concerned. Leipold did it at Kansas, he brought in over 40 transfers and some players got the message and moved on some players were just along for a ride and didn't contribute.

Leipold only gave 6 scholarships to high school players in 2021 so I don't think this upcoming class means very much as far as high school recruits is concerned the next HC will have to flip the switch quickly and that means bring in transfers.

Yep, might as well ignore recruiting news for now. Make the right hire and it won’t matter. Make the wrong hire and it’ll be 3-5 more years of misery.

Speed wouldn't hurt, but Eye-oh-Wah's Jack Campbell isn't the fastest dude out there, but he more than makes up for it with a great football IQ.
