I could have done without the strange "Event Horizon"-like things that happened on the ship. Like the wall sucking in the guy's arm and the arm crawling around on it's own and the worms and the gyro being found inside the Russian guy. The movie would have worked just fine with them switching dimensions and being in another reality without things happening that defied basic physics.
