Going from the title, I assumed they’d hung another participation banner of some kind. “2024 CyHawk Trophy Game Appearance” would look good in the rafters.

You know however bad or good they do throughout the season, they always get up for us
When’s the last time we entered the game with a better W/L record? Pelini days?

They play us the same way they play everyone; pray to wear you down with the run and limit big plays, hoping for a turnover.

Dynamic QB and athletic advantage makes them look like total dogshit

I believe we have an exceptionally smart, talented, dynamic QB finally. I hope we beat them convincingly in Iowa City!

Anyone’s guess who their QB going to be in 12 weeks..
If he’s still upright, it’ll be Cade. Ferentz is somewhere between stubborn and phobic when it comes to benching a starting Qb. When they went 4-8 in 2012 and their starting quarterback was trash, they were the only team in D1 whose backup quarterback didn’t take a single snap all season long. I remember learning that little tidbit while sitting in their frozen stands for our 13-7 win that year and lmao; that was the year they hired Greg Davis and thought his Texas moxie would lead them to the next level.

The only way I could see them making a change (barring injury) is if their new AD pulls rank on Ferentz.

Iowa will probably be just fine, play us super tough, and go to a bowl game. They are remarkably consistent.

In two games with which seems to me to be a seasoned enough quarterback, Iowa takes forever to get going. If Nebraska were to play Iowa right now, I could see us taking a big lead early.

How it's possible that Iowa not only found a worse QB than the guy they had last year, but helped that guy get an NIL deal, is amazing.

I guess, though, that we did the same with Sims.

Most jokes cease to be funny at a certain part. But the Iowa offense isn't one of them

Going into this season all they talked about was how they were a playoff team.

Good luck with their all Iowa secondary trying to track down our receivers

Just hoping everyone is healthy so we can be at full strength when playing this year. It seems like we are always banged up once we get to that game.

This is so true.

However with all of the close losses we've suffered at their/our hands it was good to see the same hand delt to them yesterday.
When you design your plan to live on the edge literally every week (unless it’s a ranked team) then you are eventually going to have some bounces not go your way. Last year was an anomaly in winning with that poor of an offense.

Depending on a blocked punt or an interception return for a TD to always get you a win is a poor plan. If you can’t line up and be successful on offense it’s highly unlikely you’ll do well. Though as you pointed out last year they did. It won’t happen year after year. Their fans know it and it’s why they want Kirk fired

They also seem to draw kind B1G conference schedules. UDub and tOSU are the marquee games for the Iowegians. Also, the Badgers and of course, NU. With the loss to Condiment State, they are looking at an 8-4 season.

I think they go 6-6

"Play solid defense and punt until the other team blows their own foot off"

Seems to be a strategy that will win a solid 8 games every year, and a championship of any kind every 400 years or so, (give or take a few).
