Is the exact reason why these guys in stripes need to be held accountable or a coach should be able to have a blatant missed call reviewed.

I know Auburn beat UK and I tip my hat to them. But they were robbed.

ONCE AGAIN...a BLATANT missed call prettY much decided the game. It should have been Auburn’s ball with about 4.8 seconds left.

Yeah, I said it as soon as it happened, but no one else around me said I word. I thought maybe I had seen it wrong.

It looks like the defender fouls him when he dribbles it off his foot.

Worse than that, the clock was at 1.5 seconds. Game over.

I’m waiting for the tired old excuse “when coaches and players don’t make any mistakes, then I’ll listen to you about the officials” to rear its head. Note, no one plays defense on the officials....

There’s a way to stop it. Implement an incentive program that rewards refs with bonuses if the officiating crew gets more than 90% of the calls during the course of the game right. Have a drone that flys overhead that tracks the game and keeps up with every foul, no call, etc. so there will be something to compare the refs performance to.

OR institute a penalty plan that penalizies refs for every missed call throughout the course of a game. Every missed call will eat into their paycheck for that game. Heftier fines are implemented for missed calls with 3 mins or less remaining in the game.

Personally, I believe the penalty plan would work the best. Easier to keep the biases and “under the table” handshakes out of the game if they really have something to lose. As it stands, there are no repercussions for blantant incompetence and/or cheating.

Sure.

I’m just saying if we’re going to demand the double dribble—then we should demand the reach in that was called 1 second later.

Refs absolutely suck.

It’s got to be called right and fair. And it’s not. And it’s unfair to the teams that get robbed, even Auburn who made a heck of a run to get here. If this crap isn’t fixed, someone needs to show me hard evidence that it’s not.

And to add injury to insult after missing that you turn around & call the foul.

Guys there were a lot of "technically" fouls per rules that game that was not called. It was really physical. So why call that one? Especially after missing the double dribble.

Reasons for reviewing most or everything inside of two minutes is because the referees are fatigued by that point and these errors are more likely to happen. That closest referee has to feel badly, and that play had irrefutable evidence that the refs got it wrong. It should have been reversed--Auburn got hosed.

I don’t believe anyone in the Auburn bench knew it even happened, so a coaches challenge would not have worked in this situation. The interesting thing about this missed call is I think 99% of people watching missed it too.

Absolute joke. You can’t miss that call in the freakin Final Four. Cost Auburn a chance at a title

It’s down right wrong. No other way to put it. Happened against UK in the 2nd round and then happened on the biggest stage of College Basketball during the most crucial time of the game. These are one of the things that keep me from being as much of a fan as I used to be because I think these guys are on the take. I really do.

The incentive plan would have to be more than what gamblers are throwing at some of the refs imo

Yep. And it’s very easy to be on the take when you’re an independent contractor. There’s nothing stopping them from betting on games and influencing the outcome. Send that money straight to an offshore account. Easy peasy.

Karma against Auburn for not being called for a single foul the last quarter of the UK game!

I agree. Can’t blame the refs. Auburn would not be in the final four if the refs didn’t swallow their whistle during our game.

We all see what’s going on. The FBI pointed it out for everyone. It happens at the highest levels of any major organization or institution. Corruption is a part of life. Every person in the United States has been affected by the mafia at one point or another and they didn’t even know the organization existed for the longest time lmao. It’s happening everywhere right underneath people’s noses and there’s no reason to think that it couldn’t be happening here.

Missed foul calls are part of the game. But missed blatant violations are the easiest to call. That ref was within 10 feet of the double dribble violation looking dead at the UVA and AU player.

All it took was beating U.K. We don’t have a leg to stand on with Sharife at the moment besides the usual Calipari PG NBA success spill.

Missed calls are missed calls. Auburn lost today but won last weekend due to the refs swallowing their whistle.

I agree. But that double dribble was probably the easiest call to have made. My jaw dropped when it went uncalled because it took me back to UK’s game when that same exact call was missed.
