I'm trying to include any tournaments or games that include any 2A boys/girls teams.

There's a LOT of tournaments going on right now.

I know both of these teams are 1A, but important result considering Riverheads gave Lee fits the other night....

Wasn't PM in the preseason 1A top ten? I know Riverheads was at #5. Lee needs to improve defensively or they will not be able to make the final 4 and have a chance to repeat. They have too many athletes, good size and length not to be better on that end of the court. Mickens was a heck of a defender for Lee when he played. I'm hoping he will be able to coach that and get the players to buy in, and realize they just don't have the offense they had last season to repeat.

Yea I think this Lee team will be more defensive-minded as the season goes on, especially with Mickens at the helm.

Gate City, Radford, and Dan River are already heavy contenders to make it to Richmond.....Lee is there, but not quite yet.

I haven't heard much about the Eastern teams so far this year.

I think the better teams from the east are the ones west, lol, if that makes any sense. East rock is starting better then I expected. Lee, central, Madison, just to name a couple seem to be better then goochland, Brunswick, bruton, etc...But early in this season it does appear the very top teams are in the west. I know Radford is loaded, but gate city has to be the favorite overall. They can just put the ball in the basket with their top 3 players.

I think Lee's defense will be fine as we go along. The weak spot for Lee could be foul trouble. I know that impacted the Riverheads game so...they have to avoid that or that could be a stumbling block in a big game.

Region D: John Battle, Central (Wise),Gate City, Graham, Grayson, Lebanon, Lee, Marion, Richlands, Ridgeview, Tazewell, Union, Virginia

Sounds right to me - that's how it was last year.

Last year there were 2 regions east/west goes back to a,b,c,d this year so be old format I believe. Who knows where qtr and semis will wind up.
