so I could see them doing it. They already got Albert Haynesworth, DeAngelo Hall (which was stupid), and Derrick Dockery. Getting TO would be the icing on the cake for them. Washington's problem however is that they never pan out and something bad always happens. Haynesworth will be gone in two years and so will TO if he goes there.

I know ya'll hate him and all but I sort of thought he had shaken that label when he broke 3 tackles, scrambled around, threw a bomb to Tyree on third down and then won the Super Bowl. I guess McNabb, Garcia, and Romo all have the spine of jellyfish as well.

I think most of the "spineless Eli" talk stems from the whole 04 draft debacle and the fact that many, including myself, think he let his daddy make the decision on where he'd take his pro career.

He had a good run last year in the playoffs but he went into the tank this year when Burress went out of the lineup and he has historically gone into the tank down the stretch of the year. He was really only ok last year before getting on that playoff run. Eli is an alright NFL QB.. his career rating is only 76 and his TD/INT ratio is about 1.3/1. He gets down on himself easily when things don't go well.</p>

I was born the year Elway got drafted (83), so no. It's possible I feel that way about Eli because I'm a State grad and a Giants fan, and at that point I would rather have ended up with Rivers. Phillip Rivers is a better QB than Eli.. it's really not even close right now. If you told teams they could have either one I bet every team but the Giants would take Rivers.

Completely agree with that, as well. The only reason I'm "glad" that we ended up with Eli is because of the ring he helped produce. There's nothing saying Philip Rivers couldn't have won the SB with that same Giants team, either..

And to get back on the thread topic, I don't know where T.O. will end up, but if it's New York, he'll eat Eli alive.

He needs to go somewhere with established players, and most importantly, a QB that could care less whether he throws to TO or not. Brees is a proven QB, has been in the league for quite a few years now, and strikes me as the kind of guy that could completely ignore any of the crap TO would pull. They already have good enough of an offense that they could just bench the guy when he starts his bitchin.

Could you imagine the weapons on that offense? Colston, Bush, Shockey, and then TO. That'd be one heck of a receiving group. And maybe they could spend this years draft strengthening the defense.
