Five minutes into the game Oskar took the floor and we had our TENTH man in the game. Right then you knew it would be a long night. Tell me slowly that Ace and Dylan can’t be screwed up. And we’ll only have that talent one year. Then what’s 2025-2026 look like.

Lathan Grant and Dortch all look to be very good. 2025 recruiting has us in the top couple choices for a bunch of high level talent

So I sit behind the bench, coaches actually said “Austin” but he wasn’t paying attention and Oskar got up and they were half trying to tell him no and half like, **** it.

That sounds par for the course for this team….lol. A Williams wasn’t paying attention because he was practicing visualization techniques for his free throw shooting.

Ace and Dylan can’t, but if our coaching staff doesn’t process close to everyone, the staff will

If those 2025-2026 sense some of what we saw last night then we may lose any recruiting momentum we have had. How did Ogbole play?

I don't know about the other stuff you posted, but when I saw this during the game, I yelled, " Jesus Christ we must be the worst conditioned basketball team in all of America." The constant lineup shifts every single stoppage was a little much.

Reminded me of the failed rotating lineman experiment Aurich did with the Oline. Flaherty comes in, puts an end to it and suddenly we have our best rushing offense in years. How can guys get into a rhythm or in sync with other players if they're only on the court for 2 to 3 mins.?

Is sacrificing the mins., of someone who is doing well in favor of resting them and brining in someone who is having an absolutely horrific game, really worth the rest?

Possible which is why it sucks we are THIS bad but they know we have 5 good freshman coming next season

Ogbole has been hurt and hasn't played all season which I'm sure you know. Not sure why you brought that up?

Wolf seems to have regressed to me. I don't know what he brings to the table.
I heard Schiano is still looking for tight ends.
Wolf is the incredible shrinking man. He's now too skinny for TE

He must be on the Simpson diet

I posted similar in the game thread
It doesn't matter who the players are - its unheard of.
Even All-Star games don't have so many subs so early.

5 min into the game we had 10 guys play.
That would be like 10 guys playing in an NBA game within the first 6 min of the first quarter.

Do any other college teams play so many players so early in games?

Now we are coming to the truth

We are playing everyone (expect chol) becsuse we don’t have enoogh

We can debate all of the coaching shoukda, coulda, woulda…..but the reality is Pete carrill or red Auerbach isn’t fixing this team …this is fundemntally a talent issue , made far worse because what we do have doesn’t fit together (we don’t have a shooting guard , we have no one other than Gavin who can hit a three beyond the tip of the line ) …it’s a mish mash

This is a recruiting problem fellas…it’s now clear as day

Two years we recruited …our junior and Sophs are
Simpson
Wolfolk
Chol
Jaden jones
Jalen miller

Heck …go back a third clasa
Cliff
Mawot
Oskar
Dean ewiber

1 very good player and two solid players and 6 recruiting misses out of 9……

It’s that simple ….

Good news rhe rexruiting has turned …but make no mistake about it …the class of 2025 is just as huge as 2024 to elevate the porgram talent base or not …

People need to be paying a lot more attention to hoops recruiting …for better or worse

Agree 100%. And one great class, and it’s great, doesn’t reverse the trend of 67% misses over three years. Especially when two players are one and dones. 2025 and 2026 need to be very good classes to for us to return to what we were the last four years. I’ll very much be paying attention to recruiting. And we should know 2025 in the coming nine months.

As a unit they did fine
Which part ? Wolf missing 4 point blank layups or his failure to even go up for a rebound slowing Penn State to score on a put back 2 times , or Noah’s goose egg and getting striped 2 times or not knowing how to throw the ball into Cliff , or Oskar ‘s zero production , no 3’s , obligatory 2 strips for turnovers . Fine as in how ?

I agree with Shack. we have a bunch of guys that can't shoot. Can't make layups, 2 pointers, 3 pointers, and free throws! Plus we do not have a true point guard. Someone to drive and dish to an open man. Our guards are small and when the go to the rim the shot is blocked or the ball is stolen. Because of this we are too easy to defend.

Has Grant been located....I remember seeing a thread where no one could fine were Grant was playing. As far as we know he could be hanging out with Sheridan.

Like Reiber, Oskar, Mawot good? Jalen Miller good?
Lathan and Grant are both top 150 players. Not sure why you wouldn't expect them to be good? Or compare them to lower rated recruits? Or why Mag would be included in that list if you're implying those were all bad players?

Pike doesn’t have a great hit rate with 3 stars percentage wise. It’s early to declare the whole class a hit. From watching Lathan I really like what he brings. I think he will be a solid starter come soph/junior year. But we don’t know yet right. Grant and Dortch seem more one dimensional. We will see though. I certainly hope all Five are stars here.

Ace and Dylan are 5 stars

Lathan is a 4 star top 100

Grant is an ESPN 4 star

Dortch is a TOS top 150

We weren’t talking Ace and Dylan in this sub conversation. Also I’ve seen top recruiting services where all the other three are three stars. Listen, I hope they all hit, but there’s a chance none do.

I've never been a proponent of a 10 man rotation. I prefer 8 man rotation and 9/10 are emergency substitutions (foul trouble). If you are only playing 4/5 minutes at a time just can't get into the flow of the game, any type of rhythm.

The point is all of them are much higher rated than players like Miller Reiber Oskar
