Made a gun hand signal. A point of emphasis last season.
Kind of a cheap T imo, but as a player ya gotta be smarter than giving the refs the slightest chance to ring you up.
Before last night I had no idea that was a T. Seems pretty soft.
It was a lame T. About as lame as doing a celebration while you’re down 29-14.
Stupid rule. Especially with all the other gun-related language commonly used in basketball:
- "Shooting" the ball
- "Quick Trigger"
- "Gunner"
- "Firing away"
- A shot from "point-blank range"
- "Pistol Pete" Maravich
Except none of that are player actions on the court
The joke is on the player, that's an outdated action if there's a rule against it. Certainly there's a better action to take after making a basket, or better yet, just get your butT back on defense because you're losing by twenty.
Not cheap at all. It's explicitly against the rules, as it should be.
Don’t you get it? Players must act like robots the entire time & not show any ounce of fun during a game. This is SERIOUS stuff.
Sorry, but when a guy has his hand in the "2 in the pink, 1 in the stink 'shocker'" formation, and then makes the slightest of 'gun shooting' gestures is really tame compared to some of the gestures, actions and words they let them get away with out there.

I think it’s the equivalent of the ‘throat slash’ motion that was removed several years ago in major sports.
