My favorite RU team ever! 20 years a fan, y’all make me proud!
Same here. This is my first post of our great season, but I have been following along here for months. So proud of these guys. I want to thank our seniors, Akwasi Yeboah and Shaq Carter, for everything they did on the court this season to help RU achieve it's best basketball season in 3 decades. We fans will really miss you guys. Come back often!
I can't recall a more likeable team, college or pro, to root for all season. Geo, Ron, Jacob - just tremendous performances all year. Myles, Tez, Caleb, Paul - flashes of brilliance from each and every one of them. And no one works harder than all these fellas. How do I know? Because they never ever quit. They were the best Division I basketball team at home in the country. Yea, they took down many ranked teams, but even when tested by a team like Northwestern who got up huge on us at home, these Knights roared back and protected the RAC with a win. Just awesome. They were in every last game on the road, roared back from over 20 down to go ahead of PSU only to lose in the final seconds, and when people were looking for an excuse to leave this great team out of the tournament, they stepped up huge like the champs they are at Purdue (a notoriously difficult home court).
I was able to come up from Maryland where I currently live for two home games - the Minnesota game and the Illinois game - and they were two of my favorite sports memories of my life. Loved the energy, enjoying the cozy confines of the RAC again, (2004 graduate) and seeing a Rutgers fan base ENERGIZED for the first time in decades. What a treat. I only wish it could have kept going. I know this team was going to do something very special in March. We all know it.
Rutgers 2019-2020 Basketball will never be forgotten in my mind, even though they sadly couldn't write the season's final chapter. These guys played with more passion, guts, and glory than any team I can ever recall. If any of the guys are reading this, please know that you filled the hearts of the RAC faithful with absolute joy this wonderful season, and we CANNOT WAIT to see you next season. R.....U!!!
