So you take him at 6-9, Brodie after a year at Monteverde at 6-9 The 7-0 red shirt JC shot blocking machine and the potential 6'-10 georgean (not sandro another one that will be here next year ), add them with powell, ish, cale, 6-11 sandro and had the ball to lightning at the point guard and you just run like hell!

Yeah hearing from SHU buddies its a done deal. I also heard that for Tre Duval.

If they snag him good luck to them. I think multiple schools w/ good basketball in NJ is good for NJ period.

Cant wait to see how Baker, Mathis, Souf, Kiss, Mac, Duke + Shaq(speculative) do for us.

I think Pike and Willard both want each school to be annual Top-20 teams.
If both programs are top tier, it will help both schools recruit better players.
Make NJ hoops a destination and also rally both fanbases which would boost attendance and the general interest from the college hoops fan in-state.

Last year's crowd at Prudential Center for RU vs SHU had a great buzz/vibe going and it was sold out.
Lots of top recruits were in attendance too, and IMO to see both teams not just SHU.

Agree, I think both programs succeeding will be good for Rutgers.

Does anyone know if RU and the Hall schedule joint practices and scrimmages? I would think that would also benefit both programs.

.

With due respect (and you aren't the first one to have said this) I simply don't get this point of view.

F them. I hope they lose every game ever. They've been good intermittently in the past and it has never helped us and I would argue it hurt us.

We don't need some NJ rivalry to thrive in the B1G

Them succeeding helps us in absolutely 0 way. If they do well, they can conceivably compete with us on the same recruits so I'm not sure how their success adds up to a good thing for us.

Not comparing our schools to them but, does Duke being good affect UNC?
Not really.

There are more than enough top tier players in NJ, NYC and in a 3-hour drives radius where both RU & SHU can be very good programs.

Andy Gaze U. They hate RU, that's fine. Always was a sense of resentment towards us on their board, and it must be heightened with this past recruiting season.

Agreed. It was a stupid and childish thing to post.
By a stupid "child" who no one on the SH board respects, as many SH posters stated here when he made that stupid comment.

Like the Seton Hall fan who accused Pikes of paying money to get Mathis?

That was an idiot that was off his meds again and doesn't know what he is talking about. Many on our board don't respect him because he can't control his emotions with verbal assaults when you offer a different opinion.

He even researched my name over here as if I was hiding the fact that I was posting here as a Rutgers fan. I had to explain to him that I am an undergrad of SHU and a recent grad of RU. Don't take anything he says seriously. Lol

When RU and SHU are top 20 teams, the rivalry will put us on national TV in a flash.

The RAC will be rockin', Pru center sold out and raucus.

Lots of solid publicity.

Recruits talking about us.

BTW -- how often have we both gone after the same recruits seriously?

What's not to like? Can still hate eachother.

That's a perfectly honest point of view which I respect. I sort of enjoyed Patrick's angst towards all things SHU Mens Basketball over the years. it's part of the rivalry.
