Don’t know much about Bertie but I’m thinking/hoping that this game will be the game that the defense steps up!

Bertie high school has a Bojangles nearby. Have a feeling we're going to be there before 9:00.
IMHO Tarboro's closest game the rest of the regular season will be Riverside.
Their offense somewhat concerns me. Now that Riverside defense really doesn't, especially since gates county put up 44 points on them.
We beat hell out of Bertie over here in Elizabeth City with our backup quarterback

They look nice on offense and they do somewhat concern me. But considering the fact that their defense just gave up 44 points to Gates county I doubt they stop Tarboro. Could be a shootout. I got to work that night but I'm taking that night off

I'm singing the same song over here. There's nothing remotely similar going on with us from the time I met you a couple of years ago. I'm sure a Bertie/SWE game right now would end up in a 0-0 tie. But I'll go down with the ship, just like I'm sure you will with the Falcons.
I'm pretty sure swe would beat Bertie. How do you think y'all would do against Greene central Friday?
Man, I look at GC and have been unimpressed with the opponents they have beaten to garner their undefeated record. I was 100 percent confident that we would handle the Rams.
Then we lost to Farmville Central.....
I was very shocked y'all lost to Farmville Central. I think y'all will beat Ayden grifton and maybe Washington. I don't know much about North Pitt and West craven this year
This season isn't a good look for our new conference. Nobody looks good. I'm surprised that WC and Washington are struggling. I can't imagine anyone from the conference making it past the 1st round. GC will get a high seed, but the weak non conference and weak conference schedule will set them up for failure.
What happened to Bertie football? Didn't they win a couple of state titles at the 3A level in the 90s? Seems like there would be a lot of good athletes in that county.
To all the Tarboro posters headed to Bertie tomorrow night I have a suggestion. If you love hsfb just stay driving on 17 north another 15 minutes and come to the Northeastern/Holmes game. This is going to be a good game between two evenly matched teams with a lot riding on the line for future playoff seeding. Needless to say these teams and coaches have no love loss for their opponent across the field. It’s most likely going to go to the wire and be a good game. That’s just an idea because the Bertie game is going to be over before the first quarter ends.
I may need to slide to this game. Tarboro will probably have the clock running at half if not sooner
Wc struggling is very surprising. They had a very good team last season. That conference as a whole struggling is a surprise
Trust me it’ll be a running clock fast unless your Vikings get some dumb penalties. Another thing to consider is that the stadium in Bertie isn’t very nice at all.
This will be my first time going to Bertie. I guess the visitors section isn't the best lol. Im predicting a running clock for this game to. And for sure the south creek game coming up soon. Gates county may be one.
Hard to say tbh. They definitely used to have a great program back in the late 90s early 2000s though

To me, the stadium is a typical old stadium for small schools in eastern NC. Very recently built campus for the high school itself, but they continued to use the fields of the old campus, which is across the street from the new one. Sure, it could use upgrading, but I can say that about most of the schools built in 19 something, especially those in poor counties. Bertie County definitely qualifies as that, as does my own Edgecombe County. As long as you don't expect air conditioned suites or cushions and armrests, then you won't find it any different than most. If you've been to North Edgecombe, then you've been to Bertie. The PA system wasn't that great the last time I was there, but that's about it.
North edgecombe definitely needs an upgrade with it's speakers. Tarboro does to been way overdue. Lot of these small 1a schools need upgrading to their stadium
Bertie is in the process of upgrading the stadium. New lights have been installed and I guarantee they are the better than NE and SWE. Lol. Now when the lights come on it’s a real shame. The track gets upgraded and tennis courts will be installed after the season is over. A new sound system is and set to soon be installed. Our 2 time state champion head coach sadly passed in his prime and that began the fall. Our next successful coach played football at UNC and was offered a job in administration. He took the $$$. It has been hard to find a good coach since then to say the least. We are at the bottom of the bottom. It was cool to meet you SWE back in the day.
What year did you guys start to decline? I can remember you all knocking off swe in the 3a playoffs back in 07
Bertie beat us in 89' in the 3rd round at Tarboro. Not sure if we have lost to them since. We were both 3A.
