Makes sense... Better for him being drafted than trying to start under Frost offence.

Seems like TLee transferred from Tulane because Tulane was going to a spread-based option offense. Him signing up for the draft might be the best path for him.

This one hurts as Frost could have adapted this system to him. Am sure he would have stayed around with Riley.

Agree. Especially with our schedule and lack of talent. There’s 2 NFL folks on the roster and there’s goes 1 of them. He really came on. He’ll have a 10 plus year career as a backup, hopefully for his sake. Great kid!!

I'm not seeing him drafted. Too many picks, couldn't carry the team at all when needed. Maybe sign afterwards though.

I'm impressed by how every single one of your posts is dumber than the previous one. It truly is a rare feat.

I think he will. He has the measurables that NFL teams look for and will probably kill the throwing portion of the workouts. He had scouts drooling over his potential before the season started.
I wish the best for him. I hope he does get drafted. Wasn't last year the first time in a long time that a Nebraska player didn't get drafted?

Good luck to Tanner...he was a class act and physically tough while at Nebraska.

However, that opens up another scholarship!! Winking

No, it was the first time we didn't have multiple players drafted. Nate Gerry kept our streak alive of having at least 1 player drafted.

I think Tanner has shouldered a lot of the blame for the 2017 season (and perhaps some of it is deserved), but if you look at his career as a whole, he's had some pretty bad luck. First, he was on a bad Tulane team and was forced to transfer after a coaching change. Next, he comes to Nebraska in the middle of a transition and is dealt another coaching change. Who really knows what type of player he could have been if given the time to develop. Everyone has seen the physical tools. Hopefully, he gets a chance in the NFL. Though, the NFL is not exactly known for patience either.

TL, as a Cornhusker gave it his best and took a beating every week for US FANS and his team mates, and he did it with class and without complaint or excuse. He was and IS a class act. He DESERVES respect. I think he is a warier for it and am sure he, as well as we fans, wish it had been a different result. GBR Tanner--ALWAYS.

Yep, agree completely. Then scouts will look at the tape and see a guy whose offensive line really struggled, and who himself at times struggled to make good decisions and deliver the ball with accuracy, mostly as a result of pressure.

By all accounts he is also a good leader, admired by his teammates, and a smart guy. When players like Bryce Petty get drafted and are starting in the league, it is pretty obvious to me that Tanner Lee merits a look and will be drafted. While Tanner does lack Petty's production in college, he has had the benefit of playing in NFL offenses and the misfortune of playing for some bad teams. As far as measurables are concerned, he would seem to have a decisive advantage over Petty (though we'll see how he performs at the combine, etc.).

Probably the best decision for him. If his stock was purely based on his results this year, I wouldn't see him being drafted. However, assuming he gets invited to the combine I think his stock will rise based on his arm and prototypical size.

I think he's a better QB than we saw this year. He's no Peyton Manning, but our line this year did him no favors.

He got a 4th or 5th round grade. Which means he's probably gonna go in the 3rd because QBs always skyrocket up the board.

Or even higher if he tests well, seriously. It happens all the time. Players are projected to be mid-round picks, but then they test well and end up in the first or second round. Add to that the position he plays, which as you note, is at a highly (and IMO overly-inflated) premium, it wouldn't surprise me to see him go in the second if he tests well.

And a lot of coaches think they can "fix" anyone

Think he'll get drafted? Not sure on this one.

As a NY Jet fan, I would love to pick him in third or fourth round. Right now picking about 7th in the first round, we can't get Rosen or Darnold. I would rather we pick Quinton Nelson, the Notre Dame guard, rather than Lamar Jackson or Baker Mayfield.

I hope it works out for him. I saw some really bad decisions on his part but considering his lack of protection they seem understandable.

The kid has played under a former NFL head coach and QB coach in a pro-style system and displayed some serious arm talent. He struggled at times with decisions but that is not unique for a college QB. Basically he's a year ahead of most college QBs who have played in a spread system in college. I will be surprised if he doesn't get drafted and somebody is going to get a steal. I won't be surprised if the Patriots take him if he's still around in the 4th or 5th round.
