With the way this team is playing defense this early in the season, I fully expect the to cover the spread pretty often. Only problem is, that spread will keep getting wider if they keep covering. I don't think they've got there yet, though. But hey, I'm no gambler. I've never placed a bet. If I did, I'd lose it all.

My problem with this spread, is that Cal too often puts the subs in late in the game and lets the other team cover the spread.
The last game they got off the bench with around 1:45 left in the game and was around the :30 mark before they entered. Game pretty much has to be right at or near the line for the subs to let it go. They rarely get more than 2 minutes tops.
You ever hear the expression “Sure Thing?” I just looked it up in the dictionary and it said, “A bet that is the opposite of what SacramentoKat does.” Cal fiddles with line-ups, the Cats have a little trouble focusing, the subs give up eight quick points in the last 90 seconds and Kentucky wins by 17.
I think we should win by more than 25, my only concern is Cal taking it easy against Walter McCarty in the second half.
I’m not talking about this season. I’m talking about Cal’s history since he has been at UK. Too often UK is covering and Cal will empty the end of the bench, the spread will quickley swing the other way 5 to 10 points. I can’t begin to tell you how many games I’ve lost like this. Cal is one of the worst coaches at not running up the score.

True, but our biggest lead of the game in this last one was the final score. I think even the walk-ons are playing D.
Good thing about this year is that we really don’t have 5 guys at the end of the bench; worse case scenario we still have 2 formidable players on the court at the end. Plus early in the season with a young team, I would think cal will let his main guys play the majority of the game so they can continue to work on things

Yeah, they have played one game and beat another generally solid mid major. They also have a former top 100 player who come off the bench.
Who knows, I wouldn't say they are really bad though. Ball State was picked third in their division in the MAC for what it's worth. Evansville was picked 8th in Missouri Valley.
