I was shocked when we beat Purdue. I was not shocked tonight.
I mean at least they sent a guy out there to cover the game. Did anyone else do that ? Seemed like the rest didn’t bother and figured we would lose.
Certainly when it comes to all things Rutgers, “Stupid” and “Star Ledger” go together like peanut butter and jelly and any other common pairing you can come up with.

I was shocked when we lost to Lafayette. I was elated at beating Indiana and especially the way we beat them. Last second shot ! Onions !
Um, RU made this game harder than it should have been but certainly not shocked that they beat IU. If they want to get to the Tourney, this was a game they absolutely had to win, especially with the last 2-3 games, unless they somehow win the B10 tournament.
Agree. Headline does not make much sense considering our history the last three years in must win games and our dominance of Indiana… therefore, I agree, it’s a stupid headline. But it’s the ledger.
The author of the article does not create the headlines. Usually, the editor makes it, and we all know who the chief sports editor is for the Star Liar.
A team we've beaten 7 of the last 8 times we played them. It would have been shocking if Indiana won. We own them

We shouldve been down 15 at half realistically. Indiana missed a ton of wide open 3’s. You didnt think we were outplayed? We outplayed them the last 5 though
It’s not necessarily a literal headline, as headlines tend to be either hyperbolic or exaggerated to grab attention in very few words. Had they simply said “Rutgers Beats Indiana” I would have thought that was some weak writing. But have us “shocking” another team and I’m good with it. Adds pizzazz.
Indiana had the open shots because they haven't been hitting them all year. You really don't have to defend them like other teams. Indiana was just being Indiana.
