Pike keeps mentioning Coach Calhoun saying RU was the toughest place he's played at, so I decided to do a quick YouTube search.

Our complete game vs UConn 2004 is on there, and wow. I know the RAC is getting better and better, but our early 2000s atmosphere was amazing. I'm not so sure the RAC is back yet.

R-U-T-G-E-R-S RUTGERS into Let's Go Rutgers is absolutely electric.

Also, that UConn team was so stacked. Okafor, Villanueva, and Gordon. Remember Josh Boone being a stud too.

Ahhhh I was in the student section for that!

You need a student to get on someone's shoulders and start that.

I did it a few times haha

I miss the "Cheesehead" who would lead that cheer and pull it out whenever we needed to get the crowd into it. You would need someone in the Riot Squad to give a signal and have them start it towards the end of a timeout when the music has died down. I think the crowd would pick up on it quickly.

"Are you ready??"
"Give me an R!"
"Give me a U"
etc.

Nuts would be triggered if he watched that - the band was actually in the middle section of the students !! Lol ... they were smart back then, put the loudest and most diehards and dedicated front and center

Wow that was awesome. Let’s def get that going. Let’s see what gen Y can do vs those now old millennials getting that chant going.

Me and @40Berg started that chant that day from
The student section.
It was a wild day. Some vulgar chants at Villanueva during the game. Tough 1 point loss. I remember the RAC giving the team a standing ovation when the game ended.

Couldn’t care less WHERE the band sits, Dave... that was - AGAIN - neither what I said not implied. Ughhh!

I was there too. So close to a huge win. Probably also the last time RU hit 14 of their last 15 FTs in a conference game. :Wink:
