Not sure if this is known by non-students, but there is no technical student section during women's games. However, the students are going to sit in the normal men's basketball student section. This leads to an older crew of GA fans and families with small children sitting amongst where the students are used to sitting, and a constant yapping from the older crowd for everyone to sit down. Can the athletic department do anything about this to make it the official student section for both men's and women's basketball?

Sounds like the families got there earlier for the GA seats than most students. I assume that the doors open at the same time for everyone.

I can remember student section problems from all the way back to the Quonset hut Gym. If the folks from GA don't want to sit with the students, they need to get up and leave. "It's a sporting event fer cripes sake!" The families with small kids will stay busy explaining the colorful words, so they should be ok.

I understand the lousy way students are treated during girls games in the Hump. They need to address that by making the student sections, just that for all games. Then if there is an empty seat and some blue haired old lady and her old fart stud puppy from Auburn want to sit with the Bulldog beanie wearing whippersnappers they can.

Can't imagine why the Hump people decided to not honor the students at all games. Makes little sense to me. Poor planning from poor thinkers I guess.

Maybe the families could stand up and cheer and be engaged in the game? This isn't Dudy Noble where you just sit there waiting on something good to happen.

Old people need to get over it.

If you don’t want to stand, that’s ok, but that doesn’t mean I have to sit down.

I’m no student either.

Depends on where you're standing. If you're not blocking anybody's view who bought a seat, then stand all you want. If you've just got to stand all the time, then find somewhere where nobody's behind you.

I wonder if the person who oversees the traffic flow after games also oversee's seating chart at basketball games?

The problem is people reading your phone screen while you're standing there...I mean come on, what's more important: posting from the game Or paying attention to what is going on in the game?

Assuming you are there standing, didn’t you buy a seat?

And I don’t mean someone standing just to stand. But when you are at a sporting event and you stand up randomly (especially when something exciting is happening) you shouldn’t be asked to sit down.

You both paid for the seats. You both get to do as you choose assuming you aren’t breaking any rules or laws.

Very few have a problem with standing when something exciting happens. It's when you keep on standing when most everybody else sits down that's an issue. You get more aerobic excerise like that, plus you're not being a jerk. If you're not blocking the view that I paid for I couldn't care less what you do.

You should sit half court lower level in a men’s game.
You stand up and people start bitching.
It’s not everyone but it’s a good amount.

It’s a sporting event. People are going to stand.

How that isn’t clear when tickets are bought, and when you plan to go, and when you get in your car and when you show up I don’t know.

I get what you are saying abt people just standing, but there is a decent size crowd who sits and wants you to sit the entire time.

All these problems could be eliminated if we had a general admission SRO section like they do in Europe. It would also slightly increase capacity.

It lots of people are yelling at you to sit down, that's a pretty strong clue that YOU are the *******. Yes, it's a sporting event and people are going to stand up at times. But if most people are sitting in your section, you need to either sit your *** down or move to another section.

With that logic, don't be bitchin when somebody buys tickets and doesn't show up. They paid for the ticket and can stay home and "do as they choose" if they want to

Nope. Students can show up at the "Student Zone" tent and eat, play video games, etc and can enter the Hump 30 minutes earlier than the public. So, if there are "families and blue hairs" in the in designated student sections its because the students chose not to show early.

Do you watch men’s b-ball games at the hump?

We can be in a tight game in the fourth quarter, steal a pass and be on a breakaway and the old lady behind me starts yelling sit down......every time.

I’ve never had multiple groups or people ask me to sit down. I don’t stand up just for the sake of standing up. I stand up and cheer and try to be respectful of people sitting around me while enjoying the event.

There are people at sporting events who don’t care. They (young and old) think their way goes. There are a lot of older people in the main seats at the hump who don’t stand for ****. Many don’t want you standing at all.
