Strasburg vs William Monroe

The first time these two met. Strasburg lost 4-0 at Monroe. Monroe comes to Strasburg tomorrow night. The Smoot brothers will be in the lineup for this one. Hard to compete when your ace on the mound was out and was scheduled to pitch and his brother is one of the best catchers in all of 2A and was out as well. Both Teams have one loss entering tomorrow nights matchup. I will take Strasburg in this one with Mark Smoot throwing 6 strong innings and the Rams winning 4-2. It is gonna be a real battle. What do you all think? The Rams are one of the most dangerous teams in 2A along with Riverheads and East Rock. The 2A playoffs should be some great baseball

I'm just wondering why were both brothers out last game? Was it a family reason?

They got in trouble for a April fools joke on their dad which is the head coach. As for the game tonight Strasburg won 1-0 behind a great pitching effort by senior Tyler Doman he pitched a complete game one hitter and totally shut down the Dragons lineup

Just too bad they won't play again

Since Strasburg is Class 2A and William Monroe is Class 3A, and since the Bull Run District tournament has been cancelled due to a ton of makeup games to be played, these two baseball powers will not meet again this season.

If they did, my money would be on the Rams. Very special team that will compete hard to win the program's first state title since 2007. Coach Smoot is one of the best around. Good luck to SHS.

Thanks 21base . Strasburg has a special program this year and Smoot just knows how to get the best out of his players. It will be interesting to see them meet up with East Rock or Riverheads in the regional playoffs. They will be some good games
