Uhhh I am a teacher in a right to work state so I am working class. But good for me I invest
I don't think you're working class. Working class doesn't have leftover money to invest and thus the DIJA is irrelevant to them. They've been decimated by, among other things, decades of cheap labor competition coming from abroad. If the people streaming into this country illegally were hurting the bottom line of the people in charge, you'd see things change in about five seconds.

The Democrats don't even want to pay essential personal that keep the country running or would provide security during civil unrest.

Essential workers left unpaid after Senate Democrats kill pay bill

Johnson-Young legislation would have compensated federal employees and military during current and future shutdowns

After the looting and rioting.

Hopefully we find 5 more moderate Democrats to prevent this from happening.

All these Leftists who used to boast on this forum about how well sleepy, creepy, crooked Joe Biden was handling the economy all lied. They have been lying and continue to believe their lies which is the main reason they've all vanished. They can't admit how wrong they were as proven by Trump's now better numbers. (on the economy and closed border) They can't defend their lies about Biden so they simply disappeared & slinked away out of embarrassment.

We had this one Leftist here (sammyK) who you called out for lying about being "working class" and scoring with a huge investment portfolio. We had another who used to claim he was "unaffected" by the rampant inflation that was crippling everyone else because his private business was "inflation proof". Another lying Leftist used to boast on here he was "semi retired" and thus unconcerned about the loss of disposable income most of us were complaining about as inflation ate away at our weekly budgets.

All liars, all disappeared...all exposed...all frauds...just like the worthless lying losing party they STILL support in hiding.

It has failed so miserably they have even tried crony capitalism and corrupt business practices to make it work. Hence why you got open borders.

Well, it’s official: the Democrat Party is a full-fledged, radical, big-government SOCIALIST party. House Democrats now fully endorse and stand by truly dangerous policies like defunding the police and massive tax increases. Meanwhile, Republicans are fighting to lower costs, make streets safer, secure our border, and deliver peace through strength. The contrast has never been more clear. Marxist Zohran Mamdani's extreme agenda is the future of the Democrat Party— but we will NOT allow it to be the future of America.

About 62% of Americans (roughly 162 million people) have some connection to the stock market in 2025, primarily through retirement accounts like 401(k)s and IRAs, making their future financial well-being tied to market performance. This participation rate is higher among those with higher incomes, and there's a significant portion of the population, nearly four in ten adults, with no direct stake in the market.
Key Statistics & Insights:
  • Overall Ownership: 62% of U.S. adults own stock or have funds invested in the stock market through mutual funds or retirement accounts.
  • Retirement Accounts Drive Ownership: The link between retirement plans and stock market investments is strong, with 89% of those with retirement accounts also having stock market investments.
  • Income Disparity: Stock ownership is heavily skewed by income; roughly 87% of households earning $100,000+ own stock, compared to just 28% of those earning $50,000.
  • Increasing Stock Allocation: Workers are increasingly investing larger portions of their 401(k)s into equities, making them more reliant on market performance for retirement.
  • Direct vs. Indirect: Most stock holdings are indirect, meaning they are held through mutual funds and retirement accounts, rather than direct ownership of individual company shares.
Why This Matters:
  • Retirement Security: For a majority of Americans with retirement plans, their nest egg's growth and stability depend heavily on the performance of the stock market.
  • Broader Economic Impact: As more retirement savings become tied to the market, its health directly influences the financial futures of a larger segment of the population.

Most U.S. retirement plans are connected to the stock market, with individual accounts like 401(k)s and IRAs heavily invested in equities, making up a significant portion of total retirement assets. While there isn't a single "number" of connected plans, data shows over half of U.S. households own stocks indirectly through these vehicles, and this reliance is growing.
Types of Plans Connected to the Stock Market
  • Defined Contribution (DC) Plans: This category includes 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and other employer-sponsored plans, where contributions are invested, often in mutual funds heavily weighted towards stocks.
  • Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs): Both Traditional and Roth IRAs allow for direct investment in stocks or funds that hold stocks, with a large portion of IRA assets held in equity-based mutual funds.
  • Company Stock/Retirement Plans: A significant number of retirement owners allocate funds to company stock or plans that offer stock options.
Key Statistics and Trends
  • Growing Reliance: Workers are investing record portions of their 401(k)s in equities, and U.S. households' total stock allocation is at a record high.
  • Mutual Funds: A large portion of retirement assets are in mutual funds, which are essentially baskets of stocks (or other securities) whose value is tied to the stock market.
  • Indirect Ownership: In 2019, over half of U.S. household holdings of publicly traded stocks were indirect, held through funds and retirement accounts.
In Summary
The connection between retirement plans and the stock market is extensive and deepening. While specific numbers fluctuate, the principle remains: a vast majority of individually managed retirement savings in the U.S. are exposed to stock market performance through direct stock purchases or indirect holdings in equity funds.

That's why they wanted to defund the police and now the military. To make it easier to murder those that get in their way.

BREAKING: ABC just tried to 'gotcha' Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent and he didn't take ANY of her BS! ABC: You're over there. But here, there is a government shutdown. People are SUFFERING. Should Trump meet with Democrats?! BESSENT: Well, what GOOD does it do, Martha?! They've dug in. The American people are hostage to Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries' poll numbers! 52 Republican senators have voted 11 times to reopen the government. I call on moderate Democratic senators to end this craziness. You'll be heroes. ABC: Your party controls the White House and both chambers of Congress. You don't think you bear any responsibility for this?! BESSENT: WHAT can we do? What can we do for this desperate act? We call on them to change their minds because I can tell you, the $1.5 TRILLION in spending that they're calling for, that's NOT on the table! We inherited a MESS...we're NOT gonna let them be irresponsible with the budget again.

Why should you care if you don't live in NY. Because you will be next.

New Yorkers sound the alarm on voting for Zohran Mamdani: “What’s gonna happen is you’re gonna suffer more than you are already. His proposals are weak; he cannot support them. Not to mention he’s going to contribute to crime. Another thing is: for the folks out there that sit on their asses all day on social service programs — welfare, Section 8, and everything else — you can’t hide. This is going to impact you even more. Why? Because they are going to blame the Trump administration while not giving you the resources that they’re supposed to give you. Section 8 is never going to be awarded to the people that it used to be awarded to; it’s going to be awarded to foreigners that are coming in.”
